Nu Epic (Legion Imperialis)

Old Epic is 6mm. Aeronautica Imperialis and Adeptus Titanicus are 8mm scale which is what Legions Imperialis will be.

As I've mentioned before, I have pretty much everything already for AI and AT, so I'm very much looking forward to LI as are my friends in our gaming group. They also have a lot of AI and AT so being able to use our models in another game is a bonus for us.

Hopefully when it comes out next month (probably releasing at or around GenCon is my thought) my friends took the hint and will be chipping in to get me a copy.
8mm is annoying to me personally. Just another 2 mm and it would have been an inch to cm straight conversion, and matched my currect project.

I’m probably slow to the mark, but just come across this and am feeling very excite! Very nice! 👍

Just hope it doesn't depress prices of old epic. It's taken me 30years but just realised they're never getting to the front of the painting Queue.

Just sold my old epic warhounds and imp guard. Just need to offload Space Marines and Orks. Bizarrely still having to resist urge to keep odds and ends to finish painting...

“Crush armies underfoot” is probably not the best advertising slogan…

I mean they’re small enough…

I think they’ve had a resurgence of late so prices may well be peaking with these releases as people dig out older collections and want to add to them.

The market bottom may drop out in year or so after release when they Hype dies down and newer stuff is more commonly available.

Now that it’s here, I’m not really feeling it.
I’ll definately be picking up some knights and Titans (for AT), and might just be tempted into collecting a teeny tiny tank company, but only cos I love the look of em!
…curse you teeny tiny tanks!!

the starter set will be £120 I heard, so it’s quite reasonable assuming you get the hardback rule book, the Titans alone are £45, and that potentially you could get a 20% discount third party.
But im verrry sceptical about its availability.

The nice thing for me is that I'm not spending MY money.. at least not mostly. My friends got me a $260 Warhammer gift card for my birthday back in August when Legions was originally supposed to be released. I'm sure I'll spend more than that though. I'm planning getting the starter box and at least one box of ruins, that should be enough to begin. It's not like I don't have a pile of both Aeronautica Imperials and Adeptus Titanicus already..

Availability could be an issue for me. I won't be a day one purchase as I'm off work at the moment. I would like quite a bit of this product especially as the terrain will double up with my Battle tech obsession, but I wonder how much will be in stock after Christmas.

Well..

The local GW store was complete madness with a "Show Your Army" event the same exact time as pre-orders went up. It was ridiculous.

I didn't even go in after seeing the line of people. Eww.. people. Hard pass.

My friend did go in a couple hours later and got "most" of what he wanted on pre-order but he did say it was a long wait and chaotic in the store. He did give me a website that he'd ordered from before that had pretty much everything I wanted (starter, ruins box, Beakies, Rhinos, Kratos) and I got the ruins and starter for basically the starter list price.

I did have to order the card decks from GW.. after a 20 minute wait.

I am seriously questioning my continued purchase of any GW products at this point. It honestly doesn't seem worth the effort required for silly little plastic toys.

Maybe I'm getting too old for this crap..

£30 quid for two diddy baneblades??? Are they having a laugh, I new I shouldn't have left the sump for somewhere more positive....
3D printers will solve that issue soon. In fact if there’s full scale kits around you could just shrink them now!

But yeah, that’s silly pricing.

There are some very confident eBay scalpers already listing the various box contents as buy it nows with several of each available.

I'm tempted by a teeny Lemas Russ just because I want to paint one.

I just saw on WarCom the free mini this month is a Legions Imperialis Rhino (the coin is also LI). So if you guys go get them and don't want either one you can mail them to me. ;)

I'll PayPal you postage. 😁

Got my order from <REDACTED> today! Core box, ruins, etc. Geebuz there's tiny parts, I thought some of the Aeronautica Imperialis pieces were small.. yeesh. Nice looking though, lots of options for weaponry. I'm looking forward to getting my army (Salamanders) started after the first of the year.

Currently perusing the rulebook to see how it works..
