After years posing as a respectable citizen uphive, I’m back in my gang’s workshop, hobby knife and spray can in hand! In the meanwhile, I have lurked, played a few games of Necromunda, and taken inspiration from posts of others here. I intend to post more regularly and to try my best to be a part of this amazing community. Thank you for being here all the while.

An ongoing project for me has been to convert grots into Necromunda juves. Out of one box of 10 grots I have found 6 so far that were convertible into juves. Replacing orkish heads, removing claws, carving away flesh to make them look scrawnier, and sculpting longer legs, made juves suitably smaller than my regular gangers.

I wanted them to be mostly shirtless or even shoeless and lacking in equipment to emphasize that they were youths or shanty dwellers with little choice but to join a gang.

Most carry just one pistol, but I especially enjoy the juve with frag grenades. A BS 2 model with a short ranged 5” blast template. Hilarious! And it generates plenty of fodder for the narrative. His track record so far is to consistently die in the first match of any campaign that I use him in. Recently the dice gods allowed the stubgun armed juve to hit a heavy armed with a plasmagun on a 7 at long range, take him out of action, and shrug off the weapon explosion of his dum-dum rounds. Whether they’re doing well or failing spectacularly, the antics of the juves just make me smile.

nice, possibly relevant: among the more creative ganglists sent to wellywoodswargaming,
1 was a massive doomcult Cawdor built being fueled by Cawdor Juves self exploding themselves. (and dead ones where recycled by a corpse merchant)

That reads like a load of work, but it sure paid off in the results!
Thanks, yeah it was but I'm still at a point in my converting that I'm more comfortable carving plastic away with the hobby knife rather than building up with green stuff. The legs were all built up with plastic sprue that was topped with green stuff and usual the feet were carved from sprue too.

I've got another box of grots that I'm gonna do another set of juves with. Hopefully an ash waste nomad gang. That'll involve more green stuff than I'm used to in order to do their robes.
