Pictures of hive cities: help needed!

“Some hive worlds consist of shell upon shell of plasteel braced by great pillars, as if 5e planet has grown a metal skin and then another skin and yet another, each successive skin being home to billions of busy human maggots, fleas, lice.
Other hives worlds are poisoned wildernesses punctuated by rearing plasteel termite mounds, vertical cities that punch through the clouds.
The cities of Stalinvast were more like coral reefs looming above a sea of hostile jungle. Keflavik bulged like some fossil brain adorned with innumerable ridges, Dendrov branched every which way, a forest of tangled stags’ horns. Mysov was a mass of organ pipes, from which sprouted the fungi that were suburbs. Other cities cvs of fans or dinner plates.
A thousand such cities, soaring, bulging, branching from the surface of Stalinvast and almost all involved in the manufacture of weapons for the Imperium. Stalinvast was a rich, important world. It’s thronged reefs were proudly stained rose-red, scarlet, purple, pink. Between the cities the blue-green jungle was riven with great scars where plasma cannon and barrage bombs had been tested. Warrior robots, juggernauts, and land raiders used the jungles as a proving ground.
The capital, Vasilariov, partook of most of the styles of coral architecture. Fifty kilometres long by forty wide by five high...”

I had the same idea recently (building a model of a Hive CIty) and thought this thread might be fitting to share my progress.

The model is nearly done, with just some paint finish ups to do before I call it finished.

For the scale I ended up on 1:50.000 metric, so 1 mm = 50 meter.
The main spire is about 100 mm, so 5 km or 3,1 miles in height.

With this 5km height and fitting about 1,3 million people I envision this as a small spire in a sprawling hive landscape.

Would love to hear thoughts and comments.

Wow! That looks great. Would love to do something like that on a smaller scale for campaign terrain. Maybe add some very fine grit/sand texture?

Oh, you said official artwork. I was inspired and did this, 500+ bulkheads. Still needs a few finishing touches don't you think? :D
Someone has to say it sooooooo many bulkheads!
