I have recently been given a large amount of Warhammer 40,000 supplies, which included an unopened copy of the 8th edition First Strike starter set. This in turn included 6 Poxwalkers of Nurgle. I liked the models, and so I painted them (I would show you a picture so you can see how mediocre my painting skills are, but I can't.) Their weapons fit with the Gorkamorka list, and I wanted to use a model with a chain/flail, so I wrote them down as a Diggamob. The nob has an 'uge Choppa, and each of the boys' equipments are as follows:
-2 with club and knife,
-One with 2 chains
-One with knife and knuckles
-One with 2 knuckles.
I haven't calculated their roof cost yet, but the equipment is quite cheap. Despite owning the models, I can't finish and play with the mob due to not having anything to use for vehicles. Should I have the mob without vehicles, flavouring them as unmounted muties or similar (In my muties chariots thread I did suggest using Nurgle Daemons for unmounted muties)? Would a Gorkamorka with less focus on vehicles just be a tweaked Necromunda? I don't have the rulebook for Necromunda and don't know all the major rules differences*. Feel free to suggest (cheap) models to use as vehicles for Nurgle diggas too.
*I believe that there are rules for playing Chaos gangs in Necromunda. If I do learn to play it, I might use them for it instead.

Unsolicited painting advice: If you get a shade - like Agrax Earthshade or Reikland Fleshshade - and put it all over those models, they should come out looking a lot better.

As for GoMo without vehicles, I don't think it would make for a very interesting game. The basic rules of GoMo are much the same as ORB Necromunda, with the addition of the vehicles. But GoMo is supposed to be played on a fairly open desert table, so you can drive around and do crazy stuff.

If you want a look at the Necromunda rules, you can download various pre-2017 editions from the Vault.

Once you’re no longer a juvie, more options in the tools automatically open up. You need 10 posts to graduate from juvie to Ganger in the tribe. Then you can put the pics right in your posts.

I would imagine you could play GoMo without vehicles, but any opponent with vehicles would have an advantage. I think that’s why the muties had mounts.

I didn't own a shade paint, so I tried to use the The Army Painter paint Strong Tone (You can see the box it came in in the background). Unfortunately, the wash was really designed to dip the models into a large pot of it, and it didn't work very well with a brush. The models look very oily now, (Although I guess it works for poxwalkers).
In other news, I actually know how to play warhammer 40k now.

The strong tone in the paint set is very different to the strong tone in the metal cans.

The one in the paint set is an acrylic wash similar to Agrax Earthshade. You apply it liberally with a brush allowing it to pool in the crevices. You can thin it with water for a more subtle effect if you prefer.

The one in a can is like woodstain. Thick and gloopy. Designed to dip the minis and leave 48 hours to cure, then shrink into the corners as they cure.

Gorkamorka without vehicles may work ok with a lot more terrain, although many of the skills will end up useless and you won't have any heavy weapons access. I'd suggest using ORB / NCE Necromunda rules instead for vehicle-less campaigns, although the skills and weapons would certainly end up less Orky. You could run the poxwalkers as Scavvies or as a Cawdor gang. I guess Orks could run as Goliaths quite easily. It would depend what the rest of your group prefers I suppose.

Thanks for the hints.
