I did explain the idea with the Wyrm, but let's look a bit closer at the Thrall.
For 90 credits, you get:
Their aura ability is pretty "meh," as the stats it affects aren't particularly useful. You can probably count on one hand all the situations that require a Leadership test, and interfering with Willpower is likely only annoying for other psykers or the occasional Insanity check.
Their stats are pretty poor (Juve stats), so they aren't going to be much of a threat in shooting or close combat.
They are a big investment for the generally situational Whispers. If you can access Outcast powers, then they become more palatable.
They also take up a valuable hanger-on slot. Is this model better than a Rogue Doc, Ammo-jack, Whisper Merchant, Piscean Spektor, etc.?
For 90 credits, you get:
- A Juve stat line.
- A basic weapon of your choice—autogun, lasgun, or shotgun.
- A fighting knife.
- An aura that imposes a -1 or -2 penalty to Leadership and Willpower checks for enemies within 6".
- The ability to act as a node for any friendly Delaque model.
