I mean, they have to be somewhere, can't be ash all the way down, can it?
I could imagine actual stone being worth quite a bit if they even knew what it was. I’m leaving towards the idea that most of it was probably pulverized to make concrete or something similar. Although deep down in the sump it could be cool to have actual stone walls from what used to be manor houses or something similar. Abandoned hotels with crumbling marble staircases and granite countertops.

Ah, this idea speaks to the archaeologist... Could be cool with an old foundation in the sump, with stones being scavenged because of their rarity in the underhive. I guess there are plenty of stones out in the ash wastes, so noone higher up in the hive have any interest, though.

Yeah, but nicely polished bits of old staircases or floor tiles could be quite popular uphive. Although, they’re so snooty they probably favor off-world stone. Something like a decorative sphere knocked off a banister might be worth a pretty penny in hive city.

Assembled the parts. The left hand didn’t match up at all, so I replaced the hand with a Delaque pistol hand. Head and shoulder pad are from Mad Robot Miniatures. The equipment pouch on the belt is from Bombshell Minis. I’ll paint him up like the other one, with YakTribe colors on the coat and Necromunda Spiders pants.

This links to an idea I had a few years ago, which was to build a “tower” table, much like classic one from White Dwarf but it would have four levels, each one getting progressively nicer.

The bottom one was going to have actual ruined brick structures, the next up being more classic industrial Underhive, the one up from that was a Zone Mortalis maze and the top layer more polished Sci-Fi.

Would’ve been a big project though so naturally, it never got done! 😣😢

I also have an idea for a sort of "tower" project, but one that is built around huge pipes going between the domes, with platforms and walkways being formed around them over the ages. It's still in the "dreams" pile instead of the "plans" pile...

it’s sooo freaking hot outside right now…

That was the inspiration for the theme. Though I suspect it's hotter there than here...

(It's been about 23C with warnings that it could reach 27C soon. I think that's about 80F.)

I think it was 86F when I posted that. Which really sucked because the week before it barely hit 50F.

Ah, remember the days of Finecast and people saying that their models had wilted in the heat of the car?

Was that ever confirmed or just urban legend??

You...receive warnings for that? I feel pretty southern right now, around here, anything below 32°C isn't worth a mention on the news.

On the subject of Failcast, I had a Lelith Hesperax model whose dagger arm was curled back at a right angle, and I managed to straighten that out with a quick dip in hot water and a hairdryer, so I absolutely believe that Finecast models, especially the early ones, could start drooping in a really hot cat.
