Hey.
I just ran in an idea and was unsure, if that's okay or forbidden:
If my leader got group activation and overseer and I got another fighter within 3" of him:
Can I "overseer-activate" the other fighter for a move-move (for example) while he carries the "beiing activated by group activation" with him. And charge with the fighter immediately after that move, although he's now further away than 3"? (My nacht-ghul has got mov8, wich would make his effectice chargerange of 25-27" [movemove+chargemove+d3]) The leader would nominate him for group activation while within 3"-range, use his overseer-abbility, and then the fighter would activate.... is that right?

i think the group activation has to be completed before the leader has his actions (his action being 'overseer')

Thanks for your quick response. So you say that the leader is not part of the group-acrivation then, right?
  • The controlling player must nominate all of the fighters who will be activated in this way before any of them are activated.
  • Once all participants of the Group Activation have been nominated, the controlling player selects one and activates them as normal, fully resolving their activation before selecting and activating the next. Each fighter activates individually; groups do not activate simultaneously.

you would group activate your nacht gull and move , then it would be out of range for overseer (i think).
or you would overseer your nacht gull and move , then it would be out of range of group activation (i think)

The way I read it you select order of the group, including the fighter who initatited it. So the Leader could be the first, the last or intermediate fighter to activate in the GA. If you read it very narrowly, you could possibly argue that the fighter who initiated GA must activate first?

Group Activation (X): When a fighter with this special rule is activated, their controlling player can choose to activate a number of additional Ready friendly fighters equal to the number shown in brackets that are within 3" of this fighter as part of a ‘Group Activation’:
  • The controlling player must nominate all of the fighters who will be activated in this way before any of them are activated.
  • Once all participants of the Group Activation have been nominated, the controlling player selects one and activates them as normal, fully resolving their activation before selecting and activating the next. Each fighter activates individually; groups do not activate simultaneously.

Overseer is simpler, you simply transfer the activation for the Overseer fighter to another fighter, and this won't affect normal activation (ready or not).

OVERSEER
If the model is Standing and Active or Mobile, they can attempt to make the following action:

Order (Double): Make a Leadership test for this model. If the test is passed, pick a friendly fighter within 6". That fighter can immediately make two actions as though it were their turn to activate, even if they are not Ready. If they are Ready, these actions do not remove their Ready marker.

The way I read it, you are free to combine and order any way you want. Which makes this of course very broken and OP, which is the reason more balanced thought-through games prevents this, or limits this. Ref Kill Team, where you can max gain +1 action, and group activation is limited to the weakest chaff in the game.
