Redrafting

If I want to use last season's Pro Elves in our coming season, then I need to go through the redrafting process. I have the rules for this, so I'm not after basic instructions, but I've never actually done it before. Any useful tips or advice as to how to do it well?

Edit: As it happens, I just worked out the figures and all I had to do was drop two rookie linemen, bringing me down from 14 players to 12. I was able to re-hire all my positionals plus the Lineman with kick. But still, this could be a useful thread if people do have anything to share...

I don't know these rules but I would like to read them, in what rulebooks do I find them?
It is possible that it may be advantageous to drop players that are bloating your team's value in some circumstances.

DZ1 or reprinted in the Almanac.

I actually booted all of my unskilled Linemen - even the ones without injuries will be getting closer to retirement.

Wants to retire rolls kick in at the end of season two so you will want to start cycling out unskilled or low skilled players at the end of each season to reduce the risk of the whole team wanting to retire at the same time later.
