N18 Rulebook query

Hello everyone,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I am looking at starting out in Necromunda, do I need the core rulebook or can I use the Hive War rulebook, plus the "house of X" book for my chosen gang?

It's not clear on the Hive War contents description whether the softback 104 page rulebook is a complete ruleset (minus gang specific rules).

The Core Rule book is the complete rules. The Hive War rulebook is a watered down/subset of the rules.

If you're looking to start I'd get:
- Core Rulebook
- "House of" book for the gang you want to play
- Models for the gang you want to play.

If you want both gangs from the Hive War box, or can split the cost with a friend, then it's a pretty good deal (it also comes with dice, templates, and some terrain). You'd still need the Core Rulebook and your "House of" book though.
