Spikeybits has been fabricating "rumours" for clicks for well over a decade now.
He's been going for that long has he.
I moved away from paying attention to developments in the hobby (and doing any miniature/model related stuff in general), from about 2003 until about 2011 (maybe a bit later), then I started "surfing" the interwebz and all of a sudden found a whole host of websites like Spikey Bits had sprung up and people were somehow making a living off the back of talking/writing/speculating about GW.
I don't quite understand what exactly Rob Baer is. I suppose blogger would be the best term for him, right? He is useful at times, for example his "how to" videos for magnetising Imperial Knights and Imperial Guard Baneblade variants. But mostly I find his site to be full of speculative nonsense. Glad I'm not the only one.
Oh heck I didn't even consider that they'd try and turn it into a limited edition CCG.
GW please for the love of the Emprah don't redo BFG!
(Expect an exciting announcement from GW about BFG next week I guess 😬)
To be fair to GW, cardy games aren't really new. Man O' War, OG Warhammer Quest (Heroquest and Advanced HQ before), Talisman, 2nd edition 40k, in fact most of their stuff from that era required cards, in some cases lots of them - Man O' War's expansions were 99.9% cards (or markers/tokens), ditto for Dark Millennium for 2nd edition 40k. I considered printing a copy of 2nd edition 40k, until I realised just. how. many. cards. there. are!
