Speculative nonsense, nothing more. People on dakkadakka airing their wishful thinking (and showing they can't add up by thinking 2+2=5) and Rob Baer stirring the pot to get traffic to his site. He's well known for it.

If you want to draw conclusions from the new Kill Team setting, well it's right there in front of you, they use the words in the advertising blurb for it - space hulk. But again, that'd be a case of 2+2=5.

The only people who know anything about what GW are planning are the people at GW HQ in Lenton. Any speculation by anyone outside of GW HQ imho isn't helpful.

To be honest, considering how "well" GW handled the re-release of Necromunda, namely "remove everything people loved and replace it with pay-to-win instant gratification for the yoofs" - I hope they don't redo Battlefleet Gothic.

The existing game is great. There are a wide plethora of suppliers for ships both original and suspiciously similar to GW ones.

I dread to think how they'd screw it up for the modern Wargamer.

I mean, having just spent a small fortune acquiring huge chaos and imperial fleets, I'd be fairly non-plussed if they re-released as well, I was just curious as to whether anyone had heard anything!

Wasn't aware spikey bits had that reputation, though - very interesting!

I’ve heard a few things about Spikey Bits recently, including some kind of drama. I’m not really sure about any of it as I don’t follow all that stuff.

I’ve gotta admit I’ve not heard this rumour though, sounds unlikely and given how stretched Specialist Games is I doubt they want to be relaunching any major games just at the moment.

They’ve got plenty in their back catalogue they could relaunch but they’re probably super niche.

I'm with @Stoof leave it alone and don't try to bring it back. The complete train wreck of Necromunda doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling about how they'd handle it if they brought it back. Besides, they'd do the same with it as they have with Aeronautica Imperials and Adeptus Titanicus in my opinion. Hype the heck out of it and release things for a year or two then ignore it. Seems to be their modus operandi on specialty games.

Oh, and underproduction of the inevitable card decks they'd make a part of the game. Don't forget that.

I'm going to wander over to The Sump before I get too salty..

Oh heck I didn't even consider that they'd try and turn it into a limited edition CCG.

GW please for the love of the Emprah don't redo BFG!

(Expect an exciting announcement from GW about BFG next week I guess 😬)

Spikeybits has been fabricating "rumours" for clicks for well over a decade now.

He's been going for that long has he.

I moved away from paying attention to developments in the hobby (and doing any miniature/model related stuff in general), from about 2003 until about 2011 (maybe a bit later), then I started "surfing" the interwebz and all of a sudden found a whole host of websites like Spikey Bits had sprung up and people were somehow making a living off the back of talking/writing/speculating about GW.

I don't quite understand what exactly Rob Baer is. I suppose blogger would be the best term for him, right? He is useful at times, for example his "how to" videos for magnetising Imperial Knights and Imperial Guard Baneblade variants. But mostly I find his site to be full of speculative nonsense. Glad I'm not the only one.

To be fair to GW, cardy games aren't really new. Man O' War, OG Warhammer Quest (Heroquest and Advanced HQ before), Talisman, 2nd edition 40k, in fact most of their stuff from that era required cards, in some cases lots of them - Man O' War's expansions were 99.9% cards (or markers/tokens), ditto for Dark Millennium for 2nd edition 40k. I considered printing a copy of 2nd edition 40k, until I realised just. how. many. cards. there. are!

Yeah, I first came across him on YouTube way back when I first got back into 40k after the standard 20s hiatus. I can't stand his personality but used to watch him a bit when he did collab videos with Next Level Painting. As you say, he's done a few decent things but his website is mostly just pure garbage. Tons of pop-up ads among made up GW rumours.
