Shadow War: Armageddon General Discussion

Sold out already? I'm out of the loop with GW's tactics, is this common? I thought I'd casually saunter down to my local store this weekend and leisurely decide to buy it, I guess not!

Sold out already? It's the first time the links worked, for not the first time I'm left wondering do Games Workshop not want my money!!!

But I want it!!!

Fear not my brothers. I shall stay strong on your behalf and not buckle to the Dark Heresy's of the GW Salious Departminicus. I shall carry forth the light of the ... £80 you say???

Where did I put my wallet?

TBH - I know GW get a lot of stick but this last year they really seem to have turned corner, I'd imagine this may have taken them by surprise in popularity and units sold. But it can only be good long term because they'll make more skirmish stuff again.

Dude I've got my fingers crossed for you. Expect to take ownership of them in about six months knowing Waylaid Games. Even when things are readily available it normally takes about three weeks to get them

Ha! I see you have also dealt with Waylaid (I mean Wayland) Games.

Where did I put my wallet?

I believe you left it in the too late zone, unfortunately. I only hope that this 'sold out' horse shit is an April Fool's Day 'joke' on the part of GW as @NoobLord suggested.

If you missed out then don't worry you can grab it off eBay for the low low price of £499. What a bargain!

I expected this to happen. What I didn't expected is that it would happen that soon. Some folks seem to be "morally flexible" (sorry, english is not my first language, hope you understand what I mean) when it comes to money making...

Edit: I should've better checked the link before posting... This is a pre-order for a pro painted set. That's something different. I'm sorry!

But how many are new customers? That's likely what they are after, so that will influence speed and size of any reprint.

Hey all. Managed to snag a reserve copy from my local shop, and according to the manager, supposedly the plan is for the rules to be released as a FREE pdf download next week on the site. May explain why there was so few copies made, since the terrain goes on general release anyway and none of the models are new.

That'd be handy. My printer ink will be savaged even further from when I printed off the NCE ha ha.

If anyone in the U.K. snags two sets of the boxed game and wants rid of the spare dice, counters, templates etc bear me in mind!

That would be great! I hope it's not an April's Fool though. This day is having his fair share of ups and downs.

It bears mentioning that he was also completely unaware that the set was only a limited run so make of that what you will. It would be the smart idea for them, soothing all the salt from those who missed out and lowering the barrier to entry for everyone else to near zero. Then a few months down the road, having no doubt added more kill teams through whitedwarf or whatever, release a compendium book bringing it all together.

That'd be a similar approach they made with AoS and yes, it would be a smart one, too. Oh, that would be really nice. Fingers crossed!

Of course aye, i never even thought of that. Doh. And if you think of warhammer quest and its two editions, not unreasonable to expect a shadow war: necromunda, or even shadow war: big chunk of cadia.

Bizarrely, Wayland Games now lists it as 'Restock Expected' and 'Available To Order' and the price has gone up to £72 from £64.
