The above models are my kill team (which i was working on when it first came out in... 4th edition? The models below are the Brute Squads I created to defend against other Kill teams. These guys make up The Black Guard, called so because all chapter heraldry on their shoulder Guards are Blacked out. They are all loyalist renegades fighting for the Imperium. Most have been separated from their chapters for ages. I imagine a few may be deserters (for example, they have seen how the Ecclesiarchy have perverted the Imperium and want to remain true to the Emperor's vision), but most are the last remnants of their squards or even their companies and have nowhere else to go. They hire themselves out, raid and scavenge for supplies, and use whatever means necessary to fight the Emperor's enemies.
View media item 5275View media item 5274The models i used were all leftovers from various projects, so I decided to have some fun with them. Used some non-standard gear, painted them as a wide variety of chapters, that sort of thing. But the majority of The Black Guard are the red and yellow of my first ever chapter Phoenix Hawks (1987). I sold the chapter ages and ages ago, but wanted a little something to remember them by, so the Black Guard. they are literally the last remnants of the chapter.

Old pic:

Focus on my orks, main faction that I played:

Now I should really take more pics of these guys. I wish people around here would still play SWA.

Inquisitor Stolar Davion's Ordo Xenos kill team. I've added a few more members to the team since these pics were taken, but here's most of them!

My Alpha Legion heretek/apothecary squad don't have any photos uploaded [yet], but my Kroot team for SW:A and Necromunda have a bunch of images uploaded here in the gallery at
https://yaktribe.games/community/media/albums/kroot-shadow-war-armageddon.880/

Any of the images labeled "Kroot in the Underhive" are that SW:A pack. My Kroot "counts as mutie raiders" gang for GorkaMorka can be found in that folder as well. Now must remember to get some photos of my Alpha Legion under-cover team.

And here is the WiP Alpha Legion kill team. Base colours over base coat applied, likewise initial shading. Cameleoline scraps to be added yet, likewise detailing on their bases.

Thematically lots of satchels and bags and bundles, and bare ceramite armour, makes for a lot of browns and bronzes and dull greys to blend in. Bright colours will be in things like base details, and loot (such as the victim’s helmet carried by Alpharius).

Here's my latest painted team:
The idea was to get onto smaller (in headcount) teams with my usual opponent, to speedup games (when both sides have 13 or more models, you need quite some time to get to turn 5!).

It worked well: was fun and faster. I have to admit: it is a challenge to play that few dudes! but they won against a know no fear all primaris kt, as my lictor leader escaped and the attempt to assassinate him failed :p

Here is the list:

++ Kill Team List (Tyranids) [99pts] ++

+ Leader +

Lictor [25pts]: Leader

+ Specialists +

Tyranid Warrior [24pts]: Adrenal Glands, Deathspitter, Flesh Hooks, Scything Talons, Toxin Sacs, Veteran

Tyranid Warrior [24pts]: Adrenal Glands, Combat, Deathspitter, Flesh Hooks, Rending Claws, Toxin Sacs

Tyranid Warrior Gunner [26pts]: Adrenal Glands, Comms, Flesh Hooks, Rending Claws, Toxin Sacs, Venom Cannon

++ Total: [99pts] ++

I would not play that usually, but lictors are fun (a good distraction carnifex, if I can say so? also M 9 on a 22x30 board? YASSS please) and warriors kick ass (3 wounds, also venom canon vs primaris was great)

Next is... I dont even know what Im building next I have too many option!

I love that idea of loyalist renegade marines, @Punktaku .

The captain of danger asked me what force I would pick. I don't really know. Back when I was properly in the hobby I would likely have said orks or squats but now ... maybe one of those tau auxiliaries regiments so that I can model a rag tag group of varying aliens.

So here is a bit of updating, and with actual photos, too!

Alpha Legion operative kill team "[REDACTED]":

Alpharius.

Also Alpharius.

This. This one is Alpharius.

Sorry. Alpharius reporting in.

There is Alpharius.

When that medic gets some advances. Definitely Alpharius.

A couple of these need some finishing painting. The straps on Alpharius, and Alpharius' chirurgical pistol.

And with a host of harlequins from Back In The Day [librarians of the Black Library? of course I have harlequins!], the only thing preventing a Harlequin SW:A kill team is... their reputation of "too good for their cost." Oh, and any/all of my Necromunda ORB gangs [see the Pit Slaves gang therad, and the Brotherhood Miners gang too], since those are entirely compatible. Oh, and GorkaMorka as well. I suppose those count too, since they are likewise the same rules.

And of course

Kroot hunting party, using the based-off-the-ORB-Ratskins rules discussed in a nearby thread, and posted to the Vault:
Kill Team For SCIENCE!!, a Fabius Bile Chosen force of Chaos Marines:

Whew! There. No more than ten images per post.
