Hey just been reading this and new to necromunda and been looking at doing slave ogryns but was thinking about this

Overboss
Paired augmented fists
Carapace armour
Armoured undersuit
325pts

Lobo slave x2
Augmented fists
Carapace armour
Armoured undersuit
250pts

For a starting point what do you think

Three models of I’ll be very tough, you may not lose any models but will be struggling to affect the mission or your opponent.

I would forgo the carapace armor to get more bodies to start. Add armor as the campaign progresses.

While you will have a 3+ save on all your guys you will be out activated by at least 3 activations from eliter gangs and more from less. You will struggle to get close as well as your opponent will likely have 2 shots on each of your fighters to try and wound them. The anti pin may even work against you as you have so few fighter your opponent can focus one Lobo down with all their guns to force bottle checks.

Also as soon as one of your guys is seriously injured you bottle on a 3+ meaning you are rolling cool checks every round.
You are better off going for 6 models and less gear, better to get one or 2 less equipped fighters in than having none of your tanks get in

I’m with the others. I would drop the carapace and just give them furnace plate. You will still have a 4+ save on the front arc and will have an extra 225 credits to spend on more ogryns.

At the start of a campaign the lobo slaves work fine with almost nothing. Their high toughness and wounds will keep them alive, and their high strength and attacks makes them as good as most champions in close combat.

I think the trick to Lobos is to keep them cheap, they're going to be lumbering towards your opponents and getting shot a lot, so they will eventually die, as such I think quantity is more important than quantity.

If you took Unarmed lobo slaves with furnace plates you'd be able to fit 6 into the list for the same price as the two you have their, they're still S5, 2A models so they're going to tear apart any non-melee specialist they can reach, and thats 10W worth of T5, 5+ ogryn your opponents going to have to shoot through, rather than the 4w of 3+ you currently have

It is very useful. That said if there is only one or 2 blaze weapons over a campaign you are probably better going for more conventional armour instead, it depends on the campaign
