Slave Ogryn kit question

I have a bit of a silly question about assembly for the Slave Ogryn kit. The kit has a few quirks I wish were more spelled out in the instructions for the two-model version of the box: the use of the valve-looking parts (37 and 44) to cover the attachment point on augmetic fists that aren't being modeled as arc welders, or the difficulty of modeling the specific loadout of spud-jacker + arc welder- turns out the dials and screens that cover the cable attachment point on the left side of the power pack collide with the haft of the spud-jacker; it's doable, but it looks rough.

What I'm left wondering is a very specific, very silly little question: how in god's name do you keep some of the accessories attached? I'm wondering specifically about the grappling hook (which I guess is supposed to be a drop rig given the house equipment list, but whatever; it can be a grapnel launcher or just there for rule of cool) and welding mask. I can't find a decent attachment point for either of these around the model's waist when trying to reference the builds in the expanded instruction booklet. The grappling hook has a rounded back that seems designed to provide as little contact as possible, neither the edges of the welding mask nor the curve at the top line up nicely with any part of the model I can work out, and I'm going a little nuts figuring out how to keep these securely fastened without risking a bunch of messy plastic glue spots, building up a big wad of green stuff underneath, or painstakingly filing them into shape. I've got to be missing something, right? Especially since all the accessory pieces on the torso (the collar, power box/lights and belt panel with O-ring) fit neatly into place...

Yep, they can go anywhere you like, so no neat attachment points. If it helps, the welding mask fit quite well on top of an Ogryn’s head!

Yup, that seems to be the fitting it was actually designed for :) I’m trying to leave my leader and champions’ heads bare so their expressions (and facial tattoos; I’m going to steal from the studio paint job and use cut-up Skitarii transfers for cog motifs) read more easily; I might just forget about trying to mount the mask off my Underboss’s belt if it keeps being this fiddly.

At this point I’m pretty sure I’m just going to drill and pin the grapnel; it’s almost like to was designed not to easily fit anywhere on the models…
