Starting Gorkamorka with the 2026 Armageddon Battalion - Advice needed on Mob List

Hi there,

this is my first post here. Since I saw the battalion box for the Orks (an all-vehicle based force) I thought about GorkaMoka.
Here is the box content:

I do not know the game, I saw some matches on YouTube and looks fun as hell. I have a lot of Orcs and Goblins from WHFB but with chariots and bows does not feel the same.
Is this a good way to create a gang? Can I re-use the orcs from Fantasy? Better wait for the 11th ed box of 40k to get the orks from there?

An alternative plan would be to field the orks I already own, buy some toy cars from the bazar and vandalize/orkize them.

The ground vehicles in that box can be used for sure.

Deffkoptas are another thing tho as there is, speaking Canonically, one of them on the planet.
But if you have a good group to play with you can just run them as bikes or houserule Da Gorkers/Morkers Furst Flyboyz Mob being a thing with multiple of the flying contraptions, with multiple Spannas, each piloting and caring for his own Koptas.

Bows/crossbows, spears, choppas/clubs(including two handed), shields and variants of light/heavy armor are in standard Gorkamorka so if you are fine running a mob with (extra) primitive ranged weapons then you are fine already.

Chariots could be ran as buggies.

As for what to actually get if you want "modern" GW orks, dont know really, im not keeping up with GW releases anymore.
But there are really nice (and less costly) alternatives around, i personally like the look of stuff by MrModulork and Geargutz, just to name two of the many options.

As above, there's not much use for 'koptas at all. While you could convert them into or use them as bikes, you probably don't want so many of them - if any. They are legal units, but not seen that commonly.

The 'classic' line up (based on the original starter set) is one trukk and one trak or buggy.

You'll also need boyz on foot. You can use fantasy models for that, though they should ideally have some kind of gun/pistol (if you care about WYSIWYG).

then I feel able to run a demo match with my existing WHFB models; once I’m hooked I will keep searching for a good fit!

Converting to bikes look easy, but if there is really not too much to use I will skip this box and keep looking for the perfect one. thank you!
