Necromunda Stoof's Project Thread

I guess we're all in agreement then! It's going to be a bugger to sculpt though

It'd be easier if I took off the top two horns, but I like them. I wonder if I could reposition them so they are like a second set behind the others, also pointing down/out rather than up.

Well... you could cheat with a tiny hat on top of a horn. But, as said, thats cheating. Were I you though, I might snip them and push them closer together and work from there.

Been thinking about this, might it be easier to chop all the horns off and put them back on after sculpting the hat rather than trying to sculpt the hat around them?

P.s. RIP shootout stoof :p:LOL:

RIP? I'll have you know he survived... not quite as pretty as he had been, and one of his arms us a bit... crispy... courtesy of a plasma shot from Spafe, but he's alive

I am working on a bit of fluff for his post-gunslinging days working as a hired gun, and who knows, son-of-the-unforgiving is just as unforgiving, and might just be turning up for the next festive shootout! (wearing his dear old pa's bloodstained and burnt sherriff's badge?)

He's had a hornectomy

I'll sculpt the hat, decide on the position I want the two top horns to be in then glue them back on again. This does mean that he'd never be able to remove his hat! Maybe he's played too much Grand Theft Horse 2 and also got fed up of his hat disappearing every five minutes

I am contemplating not putting the horns back. I will blutack them on and consider it before I commit.

In other news, I've been playing with blutack and an old plan to create Ash Wastes riders on old Cold Ones. Please excuse the terrible phone pics - they're just so you get the idea

Thanks chaps! I've played around with the two extra horns and decided not to put them back. I couldn't find a place for them that looked as good as he does without them - they seem to detract from the hat.

He's been undercoated now and might just be finished this month.

Quick question - has something changed with Vallejo black paint? I undercoated him with a new bottle and it's glossy. It's got a glass bead in and has been shaken very thoroughly like I do with all my Vallejo paints, but the last bottle (same colour number) was definitely matte  It's no biggie as it's just an undercoat, but it struck me as odd.

I sometimes have bother with their blue! Usually leaving it stood upside down for five minutes sorts it out, but it is highly annoying!

Yeah, I've had problems with the Game Color black as well. I switched to the Model Color version (70.950), which is very matte. Army Painter do one as well.

When I should have been finishing stuff for the Finish Your Stuff Challenge, I got distracted a bit by my wastes riders...

All sorts of bits in there - 90s plastic Orlocks, modern Orlocks, Dark Elf riders, 00's Catachans and a plasic Cadian's left arm.

They need a healthy dose of milliput to tie the bits together and make robes/cloaks.

These are great! The one on the left has to be called Yoshi!
I bought some new Vallejo black the other day and it does come in both Matt and varnish, I’ll take a pic of the bottle when I get home, but it might be worth checking the label before using it on anything else! (...Unless your painting an alien, then it’s win win!)
