Necromunda Stoof's Project Thread

whatever will you do with the rest of the Comp time?!? I think he needs a space conveyance...

Never underestimate a modeller's ability to start strong and never finish

The Slann is finished as of this morning though. I've started on his two Greenskin slaves now, I'll get a pic of the whole entourage at once for the comp entry/finish your stuff challenge.

I always legitimately own the things I copy, they're usually oop and I never sell them so... morally grey area?
Me again!! I recently discovered a resin casting powder, which you mix with water. Dead handy for when you want to do a quick cast and don’t want a lot of toxic chemicals about.

I linked to it in the casting thread. Of course, still use up your spare putty, though this is a lot easier than stuffing putty in a mold.

Most of my casting I do for a specific part are double sided, so the resin wouldn't be great for me. The single sided mouldings I do are generally just bits and pieces to use up leftover milliput.

He needs to come to Tribemeat as a bounty hunter.

I have a plan - he counts as a standard issue bounty hunter, but because he's not WYSIWYG his slave grots follow him around carrying the other equipment. All shots are taken and resolved from his model alone and the grots are considered to be cowering out of harm's way (y)

Work in progress for Bonnie Annerson. I decided against dipping her in PVA then glitter for her fancy glimmer suit thing. I instead opted to paint it to make it look as shiny as possible. One of the few times in life your wife can catch you googling "woman in shiny latex catsuit" and you can genuinely claim it's research :ROFLMAO:

I decided on green and nice, bright colours for the weapons etc because she's a very 1990's model. Her hotshot lasgun will have a red body (of course!) but I think I'll stop short of painting her base goblin green.

I wasn't sure about the hair colour until I'd done it, but I think it's come out OK. Still lots of detail to do (belts, weapons, weathering & wear, touch-ups etc). I might mute down her thigh pad thing as there's too much yellow going on. I am also thinking about painting the mask like some kind of underhive death-geisha, but it might look rubbish.

Photoshop mock up:

After painting the suit green my wife said it should have been red - she reckons Bonnie Annerson is the Necromunda equivalent of Pamela Anderson (like Mad Donna/Madonna). She's probably right, and I bet the suit would look good in red... doh!

I think you would be doing the model a great disservice if you didn’t at least research red shiney latex catsuits! :ROFLMAO:
Personally I think it should be black, perhaps a little unoriginal, but the bright hair and the yellow on the weapons should be the focus points and the bright green distracts from them I feel!
*the captain promptly lifts his hands where they can be seen*
In my opinion that is, no feeling here!

I was very thorough in my research. Very thorough indeed. It would have been remiss of me not to save a few key pictures so I can reference them again in the future :ROFLMAO:

I get you about the colours. I have only seen three painted Bonnies, and the black suited one was my least favourite. That put me off black before I really thought about it. Thankfully the green suit is not quite as bright in the flesh as it appears in the picture - when I take the final pic I'll use my "proper" camera and decent light.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a painted Bonnie!

What glorious hair, I bet that mask is hiding a beautiful Agent Orange addiction!

Troll Power!

Finished Bonnie Annerson this evening - actually pretty pleased with how she turned out :)

The makeup on the mask is incredibly easy to undo if I decide I don't like it in the future, but at the moment I'm quite fond of it.

(You're all blessed by the way, going by Google Images you're in the presence of only the fifth or sixth Bonnie Annerson ever painted since 1996 :ROFLMAO:)

 She'll have to come to TribeMeet to clear her name

My current WIP assortment. Some of these I'll be able to finish for the Finish Your Stuff Challenge for February, others will flow over into March (and beyond!)

• I need two of the three Cold One riders for TribeMeet, so they are the most urgently required models. Naturally this means I have been painting other things.
• The bounty hunter, guilder and my festive shootout beastman gunslinger are furthest along in the painting stakes.
• Redemptionists are there just because I'm working my way through the still unpainted ones. These are also potential TribeMeet models.
• The tokens are potential food counters for TribeMeet - mysterious egg, megaredshrooms and some nice bones to grind to make your bread (or soup I suppose).
• The car is actually a toy for my son. Grampian Transport Museum has Guy Martin's first car - a Saab with flame decals - and it was my son's favourite car when we visited. I bought the model on ebay months ago intending to paint it up as that car as a present but never got further than painting the body shell black. Now it's firey!
• The remaining guy with the sign and dead rat on his head is Runs From Villagers - totally a genuine Ratskin scout - from here.

Sooo, having continued to make no progress on the three Cold One riders that I really need to bloody do I have instead been enthused to make my new pitslave for this year's THUNDERCUBE!!!

Initially I was going to make this guy from a classic plastic Goliath, but I saw the Orlock aiming his stub gun and thought "what the hell, why not?" The hammer is consequently ludicrous compared to the weedy Orlock, but very THUNDERCUBE!!! I'm going to trim off the little decoration bit on it so it's easier to paint the armour plate as hazard stripes because THUNDERCUBE!!! (It's a modified Kataphron Arc Claw - thanks to @sump dweller for that one (y))

I'm not sure yet if I'll change/add anything else - I'm quite pleased how he looks, leaning to one side to help counteract the weight of the hammer as he raises it to strike.

Also, THUNDERCUBE!!!

You are welcome @Stoof - although you told me the arm was for a Goliath! (It looks enormous on that Orlock!)

I did plan to use a Goliath. But then my plan changed when I saw the little Orlock. I know it looks a bit daft, but I'm quite fond of the unbalanced nutter :D

Who would fit such a huge and unwieldy hammer to a Pitslave? The sponsor of the future goddamn' THUNDERCUBE 2019 CHAMPION*, that's who!

(*Pitslave may become lumpy pink paste, but rest assured it will be CHAMPION GRADE pink paste, delicious in all forms of cooking).

I shall sneakily take the opportunity of having @radulykan's lightbox at my disposal to post some images of the things I've finished recently - some will be in March's Finish Your Stuff Challenge too.
