8th Army Gordon Highlanders reinforced platoon reporting for duty! Beige as far as the eye can see...

There's one universal carrier still to build but I couldn't really be bothered 😅

"Where's the dastardly Hun? Reccy suggests he's still boxed up in Nottingham what what! By jove we'll give him what for!"

The DAK have arrived! Painted this initial set in the last week or so. 1 infantry section, officer & runner, radio/observer, medic and an anti-tank rifle team.

Creating my own enemies for Bolt Action because someone won't pull their finger out!
You fool! He’s tricked you into building him reinforcements.

Hopefully when you do battle there will be a Mano e Mano officer duel in the strange rusted ruins located deep in the Saharan desert.

"Okay, wer von euch hat „Offizier Henrik ist ein Wurstknabber“ auf den Opel Blitz geschnitzt?
Niemand? Bußgeld! Auf den frechen Schritt mit euch allen!"
"Awwww, Herr!"

Opel Blitz and passengers nearly done.

Also just about finished the 88mm. Big gun time!

That was pretty good, though "der freche Schritt" is more "the naughty crotch" than "the naughty step". Thought you might want to know that. Hauptmann Besserwisser meldet sich ab.

Naughty crotch you say? More tea vicar..?

So it would be frechen trepp perhaps for naughty step?

Probably "stille Treppe" is what we're looking for here. That's where kids got sent to think about what they had done, in past times. Usually probably the stairs to the basement, dark, dank and full of spiders.

Auntie Edith says: Literally, that is the "silent stairs". But probably the meaning is better translated with "lonely stairs" or something along those lines.

And there we have it - 5th to 29th March - One Deutsche Afrika Korps reinforced platoon! Definitely the most models I've ever painted in a month.

I'm sure another Yak said they were going to do a DAK army? Around the time I started my first one? Clearly I must be mistaken, as that would mean I'd made and painted TWO FULL ARMIES in the time since they said that, and that would obviously be absurd. If it were true it would be terribly rude of me to point that I'd made two complete 1000+ point forces in the time it took for them to even start on one after saying they would. Can you remember who it was @ClockworkOrange?

It's been a while since I did any terrain (the photo-box doesn't really count). So I knocked up this desert Ash Wastes hut for my Bolt Action Delaque WIP gang.

I am on a Bolt Action break, not allowed to do any BA stuff until I've done my Delaques which have been 50% finished for a very, very long time. I made a promise.

What's that in the background you ask? Why it's some kind of Ash Wastes crawler I'm sure. Yes, it does look a bit like a Bolt Action Panzer III. Now that you mention it, the hut would fit very nicely onto a Bolt Action North Africa board.

Why, what a happy coincidence!

The hut is made in the classic fashion - cereal packet cut & folded, with details glued on made from more card and sand. The dome is a folyfilla cast from a bath bomb packet. All sprayed brown then drybrushed in increasingly lighter shades. The door is only painted on and the window slits painted black. Just like Ol' Papa Whitedwarf suggested back in the 90's before everything had to be a purpose made expensive plastic kit.

Happy coincidence indeed! Love it when it works out like that. And good stuff, multipurpose hut is nice and functional.

My DelAK have something to fly round North Afrika The Ash Wastes now!

So at least I've done something for the FYSC on top of my desert hut. Potentially manage a couple of individuals as well by next weekend.

Edit:
I made a flight stand for it and definitely haven't been flying it round the garden making dive attack noises at flowers. That would be childish 🤨
