Fook Mi and Fook Yu - THUNDERCUBE entertainment?

These two sisters, known by their stage names Fook Mi and Fook Yu, were sold into slavey as a dancing double act when they were young teens. They showed a natural grace and agility, and a penchant for extreme violence that left their owner in several pieces, and them free.

Having been a long-standing rival of said former owner, the then benefactor of THE THUNDERCUBE offered them a job as crowd entertainment. They declined, instead offering themselves as security. Amused, the benefactor agreed. They have never looked back.

They pride themselves in wearing skimpy outfits reminiscent of those they wore as dancers, but now accessorized with carapace armour pauldrons and - an incredibly rare sight in the Underhive - Displacer Field projectors. They each carry one of the ancient and incredibly valuable power swords they liberated from their former master, which they have named Law & Order, and it would be a VERY poor idea to anger them.

After a spate of violent clashes where one particularly tenacious and short-tempered Goliath boss decided he wanted the girls to play with, crowds began to get wary of coming to the 'cube - it was getting more dangerous for the spectators than the fighting pitslaves. To this end, the the girls were ordered to prefix the word "stun" onto their power swords' names, to give an air of respectable non-lethality to their crowd control procedures. And indeed, many agree it was stunning to see just how many pieces they cut Gregdor Gruntmunger the Goliath boss into when they eventually cornered him.

Displacer Field projectors are normally battlefield equipment and have to function in any number of terrains that the field generator does not know. The power taken to do that lends a random unpredictability to their displacement. Realising that their projectors would only be used in one locality - the 'CUBE and its immediate environment, the girls set about employing the services of a well known dabbler in the machine world. After extensive tuning (which would make a Tech Priest of the Mechanicus howl in anguish at the blasphemy), they succeded in 'training' the Displacers to know the layout of the cube and its surroundings. As such, if someone were to shoot or throw a projectile at one of the sisters, triggering the field, they are likely to find her Displaced directly towards them, facing them, holding an engergised power sword and incredibly angry - a prospect with a poor survivabilty rate.

Many unruly fans have been ejected from the stadium by the sisters, some of them even surviving to talk about it.

Check out the size of the jewels on 'em! Yes, I AM that childish. They don't make them like they used to.

And Laura Crowft, Archaeotech Raider

I think she might be a Raging Heroes model? Not sure, I've had her for years and know she used to be holding an M4.

I'll do the bases once I have a few more ready.

Where do all these cool Mad Robot minis come from? I keep seeing neat models that don't seem to be for sale on the webstore.

These three were part of TribeMeet 2020(21). Mad Robot kindly sent them across. All three were sort of group-designed with input from the tribe during the 3D modelling process.

Are you in the UK?

We have some left over and will be bringing them to TribeMeet 2022. If you messaged Mad Robot you might be able to buy direct from him too - there's clearly a market after all. They were planned as "exclusive" minis but I know I'd have no problem with him making them public. They're cool and imo people should be able to buy them 🙂

Sadly I don't think I can make Tribemeet. I shall summon @Mad Robot and see what he says.
I’m currently waiting on a re-print for one of those master models. Once I get that and I get a new mold made, I’ll be releasing all three figures for sale. Probably be 3 to 4 weeks.

It's been a while, but my Bolt Action Italians have arrived. The first thing I've finished is the fabulously bonkers Lancia IZ Armoured Car.

"Would you like machine guns on your armoured car?"
"Si! Si! Quattro machine gunnio!"
"Nice, all together?"
"No! Seperatio! Deu turretios! Stackedo! Et uno in rearo!"

A wonderfully strange school of thought went into this. Two main machine guns in one turret, another machine gun in a second turret atop the first because reasons (one that the firer has to stick his head out to aim), then another machine gun poking out the rear for those times when two separate 360⁰ rotating turrets are simply not sufficient.

The bars on the front were a good idea though, I thought they were for a fascine but they were actually wire cutters.

I sense @Stoof is planning the Ash Wastes version as I type…

”Youze shure the load out is accurate?”
”Yes! Yes! Four flamers!”
”All riiiiiight, all together?”
”Emperor no! <Grimaces> Although you may have a point about not thinking big enough…”
@Pagumb: “I’m not sure that was his point your Horribleness”
”Silence! Let’s make it an even eleven flamers! Broadsides of four down each side, two turrets, stacked, heavy flamer on the bottom regular on top and one in the rear in case of ambush!”
” I don’t seeze a way for the crew to get in”
”Never fear! They’ll use the ‘Cawdor’ located there.”

All of this is sort of making me want to build an insane ash waste contraption as well. An irresponsibly armed one. What's the next bigger thing after a plasma cannon? Those things Warhounds are armed with? Can you put tracks on that?
OI LADS, LISSEN TA DIS RUSTY 'UMIE AXIN "CAN 'E PUT WHEELS ON SUM DAKKA"

'E'S A BIT SLOW, BUT 'E'S FINALLY LERNIN' SUM PROPPA MEK KNOW-WOTS

I think you could go plasma blast gun or Vulcan mega bolster weapon arm plus tracks with an optional ammo trailer or plasma reactor. Call it “Gate Crasher” or “Knock Knock”. Forge World does sell the arms separately.

I've finished my first squad of BA Italians (a Bersiglieri section) and the HQ units - Officer, Radio/observer, rifleman and medic.

This will probably be my June FYSC entry.

Bonus WIP - desert well made from leftover polyfilla used on levelling the bases of the bersiglieri.

Why do Italian tanks have a rearview mirror? In this way they can observe the front line.

What´s special about the manual transmission of Italian tanks? One gear for forward movement and four for reverse.

Why do the French plant trees in their alleys? Just because the Germans can then march in the shadows.
