The officer has a Sten, and strictly speaking at the time of the North Africa/Western Desert campaign the weren't in circulation yet, but we can rule of cool that one.

So these are the models specifically made for my SAS/LRDG force. The rest will be drawn from my existing 8th Army force.

It becomes clearer what I'm doing!

My canvas recipe is a babywipe.

It's been rinsed of soap, dried a bit, then soaked in a mixture of PVA, water (about 50/50), and a little pinch of polyfilla powder. Excess gets squeezed out, then it's draped over the model.

The polyfilla gives the dried glue a little texture, helping to avoid the PVA's natural tendency of being tricky to paint.

neat concept that is well executed. Always love the little details that you add in, like the beer cans and the foot sticking out.

That’s my go to for canvas too!! I’ve also used it for pipe lagging on my Zone Mortalis. It’s a great technique.

Refusing to pass order tests and missing every shot at a BoltMeet near YOU!

I know they wore green camouflage in the European theatre, did they wear sandy camo in Africa? Who knows! I didn't bother to check - I painted them in sand-grey-brown camo anyway so they fit nicely with my existing army. It doesn't show up particularly well in photos. If in reality they didn't wear desert colours then they'll fit right in with @ClockworkOrange's Panzerfaust wielding DAK.

I found during BoltMeet that my Italians not having an AT rifle was a mild annoyance, to that end El Stoofle instructed a couple of likely Beraglieri lads to "find" a German Panzerbuchse 39 AT rifle. Here they are now, what a stroke of luck! Must have been carelessly discarded somewhere.

You can see an American halftrack for my Airborne partly done in the background of these pics - again, the lack of any transport for my US force was a mild drawback at BoltMeet so I'm addressing that. Also a nearly finished Kubelwagon. This will do double duty as either part of my DAK or as counts-as transport jeep for my SAS (freshly stolen - those Jerries really should take better care of their stuff).
