You can do some interesting mods to those but there isn't a lot. You can move the wings, you can move the gems and you can mount the cowl upside down.. that's all I know of.

Waaay back in 2019, I did exactly that for my Spyrer Jetbike project for TribeMeet.

Unfortunately it was a TribeMeet I wasn't able to attend and the project didn't get finished.

Combat Patrol wise just the Farseer to finish off!

...but of course I had an accident with the internet and ended up with a Wave Serpent and War Walker to do too. Oops.

Childhood ambition achieved (ish) - I've wanted to build a Falcon grav tank since the White Dwarf showing the "new" kit being designed in the 90s. Since we aren't allowed to buy Falcons anymore due to some manufactured scarcity GW FOMO bullshit, I've achieved it via building a Wave Serpent!

Really nice kit, just the correct level of detail.

Taking bets how long this tiny peg lasts carrying a whacking great tank during play...

Ah, I remember the days of the invisible force field protecting the pilot. Good days.

Then someone at GW said “let’s put a windscreen on it” and thus the ancient Eldar race whose advanced technology made the imperium look like the stone age became the only Walker with a pilot on the front to not have an invisible force field and have to rely on… glass… 🤔🤨

“but it still has a force field…”

Then why does it need a window? Why does the little pod at the front now look like it could detach and become an Eldar mobility scooter???

GW!!!!! *shakes fist at sky*

Because they paid for that window mould and they were damn sure they were going to use it... Same piece used on the Walker, the Vyper, the Wave Serpent, the Falcon (twice!) and quite possibly others I'm not thinking of too.

Looks awesome. What's next and why is it a unit of Striking Scorpions? :sneaky:

I was thinking Wraithblades (the Iyanden are supposedly meant to be quite constrcuct-heavy) or Howling Banshees. I had forgotten about Striking Scorpions tbh.

🤣

No windows for anyone!! It should be smooth gem like stones that they can see out of but we can’t see in. Like the original epic Falcon. The true falcon!!

What’s next? Eyes on the Eldar Dreadnaught?? 🤪😉

...a lot of people paint a HUD on it...
I tried to for the Walker but it didn't work very well. The window has a moulded in targeting reticule I tried to paint but my hands were too unsteady.

A productive few weeks:

Very 1990s White Dwarf (well, apart from using sandy bases).

Needs at least one more squad of some kind of foot soldier.

Having looked up the old one to refresh my memory, it is very "shoot me in the face, I dare you". I was sure the driver's legs were covered at least but evidently not.

Lots of other factions these days have returned to the exposed pilot ethos, but not the Eldar yet.

(We say "old one" - the "new" one I built is a 2004 dated sprue, it's a 20+ year old design itself!)
