Stoof's Project Thread

Biostrip 20 and an old toothbrush.

Submerged them in the Biostrip for an hour and most of the paint just fell off. Toothbrush and soap takes care of almost everything else, and a cocktail stick to pick out any bits which are hard to get. It's also plastic safe.

Gui le Gros had at least three coats of paint on him, which is why he looked like Ernie from the Muppets. He had been painted with a bright pink cassock at some point in the last 25 or so years - a bold choice!

These were fun to paint. Just detailed enough. I am glad I shelled out for them. I often don't bother with eyes but decided these guys needed them to do them justice.

I assume you don't need models for this (it's an RPG rather than tabletop wargame), but it looks like it would be a good fit...

The Frostgrave Soldiers kit would work fairly well even without the upgrades. I already have an old box of the plastic Bretonnian Bowmen I thought about stripping and repainting. My main objective is a Marian though.

The Bad Squiddo ones are quite good. I was never a fan of a the various Bretonnian ladies to be honest, and I don't feel they have a Maid Marian vibe.

Can anyone think of a model of a scruffy medieval woman in a straw hat... and a 28mm Tony Robinson?

Or... if you remember in Prince of Thieves where Robin first tries to visit Marian...

(I haven't found the Morningstar dude... 'cough' lapsing attention span)

Seems like there’s loads of companies that do a “Maid Marion” figure. Just perhaps not a Tony Robinson style one.

And then for the true enthusiast:

with 'a bunch of filing' the heresy lab one might work for lady Marian
for tony robinson a juve/youngblood with adapted (facial) hair could work...
