Stoof's Project Thread

Quite far away. I rolled particularly accurately on the damage location. He was never the same again.

It was one of @Biggle_Bear's retinue, I wasn't sure if this was meant to be a cooperative or PvP thing and there had been shouting and shooting and one of the guys I could see claimed to be a member of the Inquisition but had literally no face (clearly heresy), so naturally as an actual agent of the Inquisition I opened fire.

Biggle and @Trafalgar Law looked at me in a "WTF you doing?" Type way, but it all seemed entirely reasonable to me given the situation and roleplaying 😬

You’re just going to leave that there?

How close were they to the nozzle??

Obviously using one of them fancy, adjustable flamer nozzles like you find on bottles of window cleaner: "Mist", "Stream", etc.

If was whatever you wanted it to be. Cooperate, kill each other, toast someone's nuts.... Everything is good in Inquisitor.

You laugh, @trollmeat , but I was listening to a podcast that was talking about the game, and they said it took forever to play what counts as minimal “actual” time. It was one of the reasons the game never took off (according to them).
Inquisitor is a detailed game. It will obviously take quite a long time to play. So do most rpgs. One round of D&D combat represents 6 seconds of real world time but takes significantly longer than that to play.

Yeah, I’m aware of that. I’ve played significant amounts of pen and paper RPGs. The podcast I listened to said that the entire objective of the game was to do something simple like cross the room and activate something on a console. It took all the rounds of the game just to accomplish that. Which, to me, sounds silly. You accomplish far more in a game of Necromunda (or D+D) in a similar amount of time. I wish I could remember the podcast, but I listen to a few.

I dunno. I’m pretty sure it was either Paint All the Minis or possibly Bedroom Battlefields. They both do regular interviews with game designers and stuff.

I’ve never played myself, so I found it off-putting. Which is why I asked if what I heard was true or not.
can confirm, it is not true.

It is a game that benefits from having an expierenced GM though, to allow a load more fun stuff to happen off the cuff.

The main issue with the game is 'balance', in that marines are truly terrifying so shouldnt be used unless everyone knows whats going on. They can pull the pin from a frag grenade, throw the pin through someone, then let the grenade go off in their hand with no real issue. So if one turns up and isnt being played for fun* it can be a bit rubbish of a game

*fun being things like kool aiding through a wall, charging into that big demon/stealer/ogyrn servitor/other thing, and grappling it while the main warbands leg it/achieve the mission/do whatever else.

Also, I can only assume the model is the start of your 54mm 2nd ed army @Stoof , so.... good job! glad to have you aboard the 54mm train!!!
