A while back I made the silly suggestion that you could have an outcast gang led by Old Three Eyes.

I was being silly, but now I want to do it or at least a sump croc themed gang. Something silly to help me get back into Necro modelling.

Firstly, this is going to be a thematic gang. Old one eyes is not imo an efficient choice for outcasts even with trading post access she has no BS and the gang will lean towards CC with few tricks.

Affiliation - Clan house Goliath, mostly because it means I can get sump krocs as pets. Does Clan house Goliath grant access to gene smithing? Might make this gang more viable and add some thematic stat changes.

Leader - old three eyes' 175cr
Archetype - Brawn or Survivor
Genesmithing to suit Giant Kroc nature -Tyrants Own?
Weapons - Ferocious Jaws inc.
- sump Kroc 130cr.
Total ~325?
Champ1 - 60cr
Archetype - Wyrd
genesmith? Not sure which Wyrd powers are any good?
Weapon - Grenade Launcher(55) smoke grenades(?add later)
- sump kroc. 130cr
Total ~250
Champ2 -60cr
Archetype - Gunslinger(maybe Mastermind)
Weapon - Boltgun? Need a solid ranged choice here
Total ~125
Brute - Zerker/ Ogryn (half Man half croc) will need a backstory. Think Zerker isn't allowed in which case Ogryn with Spudjacker &fist. Total 200cr

However many hive scum to flesh gang out I can afford which is likely to max at 2-3 :autoguns/pistols Approx 100cr remaining for these, I haven't opened the hive scum sprue that and remains cress will determine this.

Ok fluff here. Is that they are a Sump kroc worshipping cult. With ThreeEyes being seen as manifestation of their Diety. Gave first Champ Wyrd power, for fluff reasons. Has developed a mental link with 3 eyes and acts as her spokesperson to the gang. This overcomes main issue with having a beast as a leader in my thinking. 2nd champ gets Gunslinger as I need some ranged power. But fluff wise I think he's a rogue doc genesmith that's been exiled for experimenting mixing a bit too much Sumpkroc in his genesmith Goliaths... Probably created the gangs Brute...

Plan B.
Working Outcasts might simply not be viable, due to Lack of powerful weapons I.e. 2-3 as it's only the hero's that get anything decent. Whilst looking for croc/gator models to build old3eyes. I came across Privateer Press Gatorman.
Esp. Gatorman Posse

Could potentially buy a bunch of these try to convert with my excess Goliath weapons and use as counts as Goliath? Usual Goliath warband weapon mix should work. Would aim for 2 sumpKrocs.

Would still want a few sump Krocs and to build Old 3eyes.

Modeling wise I have a single Sumpkroc, a hive scum sprue and plenty of Goliath bits. I need one half Man half Gator for the brute probably looking at wider Gatorman range for that.

I need Base miniature suggestions for old 3eyes? Guess it's 3 toy Alligators and green stuff. I need to make a second Sumpkroc and model a similar harness to match (greenstuff).

The PP Gatorman range has several models that fit the theme but I think Malifaux have a couple of gator models too. Open to any other Ideas.

So aim is to end up with a gang that is a mix of 1 big 3 headed gator, 2+ sumkrocs, 1+ Gatorman and some hive scum it's a success, not fussed on exact details of cred spending just. Getting the SumpKroc elements in at this point. If it doesn't get curbstomped all over that too is a plus, Non of the sumpkrocs inc. leader are exactly cost effective unfortunately 2 champs with good ranged weapons and a couple of gangers with basic guns is far below what I'd get out of Goliaths. Open to any better ideas on how to model or represent the theme in the rules.

Suspect I'll go outcasts plan A for one off games but will revert to plan B if it ever makes it to a campaign, though that might be a shame Old3eyes would fill that role of mid campaign Brute hire.

So, three things.

First, amazing concept, really like your thinking here.

Second, as I read it you can't use Gene Smithing for Outcasts, rules say they're treated as a house gang for campaign purposes, and can use their house weapon lists, but not that they access unique house abilities

Third, you need 3 scum per champion, so that's 6 bodies to equip to make this gang legal, its tight with the points you have, which means dropping probably the 'zerker

Which is fine since you can't start with one either

I can live without Genesmithing I just wasn't sure on Clan house interpretation so I'm going to park that for now.

Not sure why I thought you could now get a brute. It's valid in skirmish but in campaign yes I'd have to lose it to get some more cannon swamp fodder. But crucially yes I missed the 3 scum per champ. Too busy thinking about Gators. Im convinced I need two champs to have enough firepower so...

PlanA.2:
Old3eyes +SumpKroc 305
Champ1 + GL + SumpKroc 250 ( Use Goliath model?)
Champ2 + Boltgun + Mesh 130 ( Use Goliath model)
6 scum AVG 50ea 300
- aim for 2*Autogun, 1*Shotgun, 1Sawn off +2 with CC/pistols. Or possibly a second shotgun now I've looked at the sprues

Thats 10 fighters with 2 pets so 12 on board.
Need to think about Wyrd power. Gang wants to be in the Close range threat model

The theme is a bit weaker but it seems fieldable if weak. But at least all I have to worry about modeling wise is Old3eyes and a second Kroc.

Plan B will boil down to a standard Goliath list.

Problem is if Old3eyes is only hired for a single game she becomes prohibitive outside skirmish. Or ran as NPC. So list is rapidly heading in a different direction from Plan A so likely to put on hold for now. Even though I love those Gatorman models.

Note for self:

Great theme! I'm on board.

Another way to look at it, is to have a human "leader", which would be the psyker, with a "pet" Kroc. Still following your fluff that they worship the Kroc god, and this one is his avatar, with a psyker human acting as his mouthpiece. It's left to the observer to decide if they believe this, or if they think the human is pretending to be a #2, but is really the #1.

This may actually allow you to run it as a straight Goliath gang, rather than as an Outcast gang.
