I'm not quite sure why I never really dipped my toe into the Middle Earth lore. But my mate (3d plasticrack dealer) has been discussing a few product lines he's got commercial licenses for and sharing some of the renders with me.
He's planning on going big in the project increasing the number of printers he's got, developing his own blend of resin and getting a dedicated website.
The models are that good I was hooked in. So I've ended up with some early bird prints. Lol ... I think that was his plan all along to be honest. 😂
Anyone that knows me hobbywise knows I've been an avid collector (erm ... hoarder according to the wife) for over 3 decades. So the bits boxes and unfinished projects tend to make any project based in the 40k or whfb universes I start explode in size. So to my surprise, starting this new project has been a refreshing change. Being new to the game and it being a different scale to previous hobby means the model count I start with doesn't expand just by looking at it.
So what have I got myself into you may be wondering? Well to start off with we have a force of Mirkwood Elves ...
The eagle eyed will already spot my first mistake with a certain character mounted to a 40mm base rather than the 50mm base he's meant to be on. I've been rummaging and a replacement base has been found. I'll get that swapped out before I get priming!
The decision now is what colour scheme to go for? Current options I'm thinking about are ...
Winter - cream/brown/silver
Autumn - red/brown/gold
Summer - deep green/gold
Spring - green/blue/silver
Any thoughts or ideas on colour schemes or any inspirational photos are welcome.
I've taken a bunch of close up photo's which follow ...
