This is probably a very niche recruitment message, but I would like to share nonetheless.

Myself and several others have been playing a long classic-style NCE campaign on Tabletop Simulator and Discord. We are starting up a second campaign and you are invited!

The Juves Are Always Greener" is a modified gang-construction format for use with the Necromunda Community Edition ruleset found on here. You start off as a gang of low status and funding and you must fight your way up to earn your title of "gang". If you like games where you start with almost nothing and fight tooth and nail for glory, or you wish to learn Necromunda/Tabletop Simulator in even more digestible pieces, this campaign is for you!

Campaign Information: This campaign is following the classic "Play as much as you like / when you like" format of standard Necromunda.

We are really liking Tabletop Simulator as a platform for online Necromunda especially as the platform grows in functionality!

Season 1 of our main campaign is ending and Season 2 is starting up, edited the first message accordingly.

If anyone was hesitant to join before, now is a good opportunity to get in on the online fun. We are busy making new maps to add to the pool, including my own Necromunda recreation of de_dust2 from Counter Strike.

As a noob to TTS (veteran of necromunda) how would you suggest getting involved?

Glad you asked, because I realize I didn't post the discord server link in the campaign description like I did for the Baby Gangs season. I've updated the original post with the link.

You'll want to:

1. Install Tabletop Simulator and Discord (Free Voice & Text Desktop Application)
2. Join the Discord: https://discord.gg/Br3aqs5
3. Introduce yourself to everyone
4. Make a gang on yaktribe and post it so that it can be invited to the campaign.
5. Subscribe to the various Necormunda Maps & Model Packs on the Steam Workshop.

Keen to know how this has gone as I've played some other games in TT Sim and they were good.

How has your experience been?

As you know, it is a physics engine and simulator where you can import objs/pngs to bring models into the game and then can manipulate the models similar to a real-world experience. Myself and a few others produce models using programs like Blender by either using models imported from other games, GarrysMod, or even models that have been made from scratch. A combination of being able to easily convert models, build maps, and play in a 3d engine means that the game plays very well.

I've been playing Necromunda, 40k, and Lord of the Rings Strategy Battlegame on Tabletop Simulator for the past 8 months to great success. There are a lot of players who use it as well. The only problems are

• If the map-maker doesn't bother to do a very simple collision fix to their terrain, but that is easy enough to repair yourself with the tap of a button.
• You cannot fit the camera into objects which means sometimes drawing line of sight can be difficult, but our group has gotten very good at knowing how to check line of sight in those situations. Fortunately there are also some functionalities where you can create a camera in-game that will create a view feed and you can shove that into the cramped spots. But all this is basically like playing IRL.

I rate my experience: 7/8, it's great mate. The developers of Tabletop Simulator evolve the game overtime so there have been massive improvements in the past 8 months, namely Gizmo. Misses a point because it doesn't have a mass-import functionality for if you have 20 models made and you want to import them all at once to the game, but a lot of the factions have models taken care of.

I've effectively restarted my Custom Models progress and have finished Cawdor and moving on to remastering my Escher collection, building mine from kitbashes of other models and my own photoshop and blender work. Another has done mass-rips from Killing Floor to produce models which look like they're from our time period. Most members kitbash existing 40k content with pretty good results.
