TAG WAR UK 2024!

I want to play it, never have though 🤣

Honestly this event was meant to be chill, I’m making things for about 10 game systems now!
I have my Rulebook here, had if for a couple of years now but never managed to play a game. ☹️

Grab a couple of your kids toy cars and let’s race!!

(I honestly wouldn’t fuss about Mad Maxxing them up too much as realistically, it’ll take you longer to dismantle one than paint it)

Same, I got a set of lazer cut templates too. Never did actually play it. I'll give it a go (my cars may not be converted).

My kids' toy cars that is. Yes. My kids. I, a responsible grown adult, am of course well beyond buying the occasional Hot Wheels or Matchbox car if it looks like a particularly cool one. That would be immature.

...got a pretty cool Toyota Landcruiser last week whilst away on holiday...

“Mad Max Beyond Nottingham”
‘We don’t need another wargame… We don’t need to know the waaaaay home… from Nottingham’ 🎵

So that’s potentially:
  • MusingWarboss (me)
  • ClockworkOrange
  • Tiny
  • Stoof
Hmm, I think we might be able to do some car based combat after all!

Anyone else want to join in?

If you want to Mad Max your vehicles then do so, if not… that’s also ok! Just borrow them from your kids and return them on the Monday!!

This has definitely snagged my interest. I will begin putting money aside so i can live inside the drywalls of neawark showgrounds for the duration of the event.

I have only recently taken up BA so dont trounce me too hard.

Tribefest

Camping on site next to the event hall is on this year! Tickets/Pitches are £15 per night.

Im very glad that the organizer has given me fuggen artillery coordinates in case i dont like the look of you chaps on arrival through my field goggles.

Ah, you clearly don’t know about that historically accurate* part of the European campaign where the IJA came to Europe and fought the British, then the Americans and, although terrifically underdressed for the theatre, enjoyed it so much they fought the Italians, the Finnish and the Germans as well. They may even have gone on to fight the desert rats and Afrika Korps as well. I think it was called Operation Fuji-poo or something.

*Historically accurate however, some battles and reconstructed events may not have happened and have been included for entertainment purposes only.

howdareyou ...my grandfather died at Fuji-Poo... died to his own air observer.

Welp, couldn't actually see anywhere to add a message on PayPal so dropping a note here (and via email...) that the ticket + camping earlier this evening was me.

Will be bringing NCE plus a small Ork BFG fleet assuming I can finish bashing them together by then! (and may as well chuck in a couple of hotwheels cars too if I remember where to dig them out from...)

***Emergency Klaxon***

As it stands we need 10 more people to sign up to this years event and pay to make it viable, we have 10 ticket holders so far and 3 expressions of interest who haven’t paid.

If we cancel based on the numbers above, the committee will lose the deposit, however we can afford to pay back the existing ticket holders. It’d be a shame for us to go out this way but we are here and we need your help!

The final decision will be made at the end of July.

May also be worth a little survey:

If you previously attended (or have been tempted to attend) but aren't attending this year, outside of simply not being able to make it on that weekend, what factors have affected your decision to not attend? Is the "play what you like" aspect putting you off? Would you attend if it were a dedicated Necromunda campaign weekend? What about if it was a dedicated campaign weekend for another game system (Mordheim, BFG etc)?

I would personally attend for a weekend of tiddlywinks so would like to understand where all the previous attendees have gone and what we can do to make it more appealing in the future.

As mentioned in separate Whatsapp thread, for me whilst "play what you like" is great, feels like there needs to be a central game as the "focus", so that can be sure I'll actually have enough opponents for the game I want to play.

I would 100% attend a BFG focused weekend (/week / fortnight / month) event. Similar for Necromunda, Mordheim, and Bolt Action.

From my perspective: (a) just want to be sure I'm not twiddling thumbs because there's only two people with Necromunda, and one of them is off playing Bolt Action or something; and (b) I have limited paint time, so a focus game means it's easier to know which miniatures to focus on to have at least a semi-painted force for at least the main game I end up playing.

Anyway, it sounds like there will be enough Necromunda and BFG to keep me happy, so have booked, but the above were reasons for booking late (rather than back in September..).

And FWIW, previous event I attended was great (missed last year due to other commitments, rather than because I wanted to)!

Separately, is anyone playing BFG planning on bringing a Ramilies? Mine is super fragile, but I can try and bring it for the novelty value if not.

It’s up in the air if I’m going to make it this year, so I can’t commit. (I’m taking the fight to Deutschland, doing a half marathon, and getting drunk in Greece all in the same month.)
But I do however, really want to see me mates, so don’t write me off.

Whatever the case, I’m commiting to completing my Path to glory slaanesh warband, my BFG blood axe ork fleet, and at least a maniple of Titans striding in the name of Legio Gryphonicus!
And If I do make it, @Ardavion was wanting to do some zombie last days and/or a D&D sesh. Soo much cool!!
