NCE The Ash Spiders

A start made upon my Van Saar gang, mostly classic minis with a few new heads.

Oh and this new head of my gang here. Meet Roxxie, crawled down to the UnderHive and started a gang.

Lore to arrive when I get it a bit more done.

That mini screams "inquisitorial agent" or "rogue trader" to me. Maybe it's part of her secret background? Is the mini an STL? i have no printer, so please say yes.

Ah the mini is from the Morderin kickstarter that ran a year or so ago, no idea if its still available, Ive got a pack of them that will all be seeing use in different gangs 😛

As for background, she is indeed rumoured to be from Uphive originally, just what she's doing down here and leading a gang, is yet to be revealed.

Roxxie eased her shoulders as she sighted down the ash dune.

Out in the distance she could see the Juves running and screaming as the Ash Huntsman Spider leapt at them.

'Amateurs, they'll learn.'

Refocusing on the Huntsman she gently squeezed the trigger on her Plasma Pistol sending the bolt directly into one of the creatures eyes, stopping it dead.

Leaving the Juves to harvest the corpse Roxxie wandered back to the tunnels the Ash Spiders used as a lair, thinking back to her first UnderHive kill.

Having escaped downhive as far as she could Roxxie, turned to find herself face to face with a menacing eight eyed beast, almost invisible against the ash. Her breath quickening and her step faltering Roxxie cursed herself for getting caught out by a mere beast.

Turning to confront it she pulled out the Plasma Pistol she had been gifted, supposedly ceremonial it had worked well enough to blast open Mothers guards.

'Thanks Daddy' then a pull of the trigger let loose...nothing.

Heart pounding she played with the dials and rattled the casing as the spider closed in.

Keeping one eye on her attacker and vigorously shaking the pistol until at last the indicator ticked over. Swinging the pistol up Roxxie repeatedly pulled the trigger until at last the beast had been killed....

Since that day Roxxie had decided to see how far in her Father's footsteps she could get.

'Better at the top down here, than the bottom up there'

Bringing herself back to the present, Roxxie circled her wrist as she walked.

Behind her shifting grey forms rose to fall in step behind her.

It ws good to be the boss.
The Juves dragged the latest Huntsman at the back of the column, everyone had their weapons at the ready.

As they had been taught.

Flutter, damnit! FLUTTER!!!

Vaguely reminds me of LEGO minifigs with brand new capes.

Flutter like a Butterfly, and shoot like a bee?

I can see nothing but that now that you mention it haha!

PVA and water next to add some form I think. Maybe tonight, but I should probably finish off the Warden then get some more space marines done.....

Looking forward to how this conversion progresses.

The Morderin kickstarter was another Blanche miniature opportunity I missed. If it aligns with Mr. Blanche's wishes, I hope someone is able to find a way to make his art and miniatures regularly available for others to purchase and enjoy in the future.

I am hoping they run it as a physical sale at some point.

Would be great to see more miniatures directly designed from his artwork out there, as you say so long as it aligns though.

Soooo

I had a veerry slow couple of days at work (IT Support)
I may have used at least some of that time to paint.....

The Aptly named Sorry

Since my early days of Necromunda there has always been a Juve called Sorry a reference to a character in the Malazan Fallen epic I was reading at the time.
