Necromunda The ballad of how I lost my mind and decided to paint a ton of stuff

It does cost 5 creds a cup, same as a stub gun.

Also, Block 2 all grimed up. This VJ weathering powder is turning out to be a blessing and a curse. On the one hand it looks cool, on the other, I started out not wanting a completely rusty slum, but a more dusty one, but now I see the appeal and can't go back. #hiveworldproblems.

Also, I am starting to enjoy painting tiny graffiti.

I reckon the GWA on the first pic and the FEAR and TRANCE on the fourth would look respectable quality graffiti at life-size, go nuts with it Magos

So, more work done on the blocks, because I can't quite solve my problems with the baseplate. I spent quite some time scratching a 2.5"x2.5" grid into it, and then carving out the lines to make it look like a cheap knock-off of the utterly overpriced ZM tiles. In some places, that worked well, leaving shallow grooves. In others, all it did was rip the MDF open. Oh well, will think of something.

In the meantime, Block 3 is finished:

As are the catwalks:

Finishing today's post with a little mood shot of Enforcer B0-BB13 investigating the dingy streets of Lumen Hollow for, desperately on the prowl for whoever keeps painting all this graffiti.

I imagine that the underhive floor is in pretty poor condition by this point. So long as it looks like damage or decay, it could be fine.

Might be time to convert up a couple of juves, errrrr propagandist interns, for your new scenario "Tag or Die!".

I assume L1K5P1DDLE has already completed a Glory of Prime mural on one of the Mechanicus buildings?

I *was* wondering where the little scamp has been going off to lately, he usually hangs around like he's my shadow, but these days he gives me my recaf and basically evaporates. Hm, I wonder...

After a mostly merciful summer with only the occasional heat spike, somebody set the environmental generator to "soup" for some reason, which is why the Prime family gave up the outlying rooms and evacuated everything, including the hobby bunker, into the living room, which we can keep tolerable with a mobile AC unit. This has limited what I can do a bit, so I decided to work on the base plate a bit more and I managed to finish it up.

I think I'll try and dig up my lost linocut tools for the next bases, that might give me the exact effect I want. But overall, I think it looks okay, and with the buildings on it I doubt anyone will notice some of the angles on the grid are messed up.

The heatwave continues, and so do I, this time with the power generator and the ubiquitous plasma pipes.

I went light with the rust on these, because they are not some cookie-cutter helot hab units but mighty edifices of the Omnissiah! However, as an undercover Nurgle worshipper, I know everything must eventually fall to entropy, even tri-alloyed composite plas-steel.

And one more done, complete with the horologium munda, so the lowly helots and traders know when it's last call.

And with that, every one of the bigger pieces is finished, and tomorrow I can move on to actually gluing some of them to the base plate before doing the market stands.

Currently a bit stuck on this because I got all bigger parts done, and it's down to building the market stalls.

I know what I want to do, and more or less how to do it, but this requires me to sit at my hobby table and flit between it and my boxes of random bits at random while I sculpt and glue and saw like a madman. I like doing that a lot, mind, but the hobby room is currently sitting at a balmy 32°C and about 79% humidity, which isn't exactly ideal.

So I'm stuck contemplating what to put on the next tile, which will be 1x1 foot this time.

If you have any elbow joint pipe pieces maybe a cluster of vent/cooling pipes?
I have a few old CPU coolers lying about, and was planning on doing something with them, so that's on the list.

Also, massive storms hit Vienna yesterday, causing limited flooding. The prime bunker, situated as it is in a part of the city that was built by people who understand the word "drainage", remained safe. A side effect of the drenching we received is that the hobby room was a lot less hot, so I got around to doing things:

First, painted the last few pipes and the stack thingie. The stack thingie has it's upper part magnetized to be easier to store, and made me remember that I hate working with magnets.

Also, I built a BBQ, a table with today's special, and hooked the meat to the meat vendor stall.

All very fiddly, will leave it to dry at least until evening.

Finally got round to gluing the thingies down. Theoretically it's useable for games at this point:

Work continues on the market stalls, painted the BBQ, the table and and completely innocuous cooler today:

Also did some work on various crates (seen in the background of some pictures) and did some mockups of what the stalls will llook like finished.

Meats and All, your local one-stop-grub-shop. It's real meat! No reconstituted corps starch! A small price to pay for the occasional stub round in the kebap.

Curious Curios and Curiosities, friendly purveyor of all things relics. And knives, because all "random crap" shops I ever visited as a youth had a ton of knives. Knife laws are very lax in Austria.

Plasma Charged While U Wait - This one will go in front of the power console near the plasma pipeline, gotta charge that plasma somewhere! Yes of course it's all mercator lux certified, why are you asking, what are you, an Enforcer?
