The General Bargains on the internet thread (/Ebay)

Not a 'bargain', but just had to share when I came across this. Usually see them go for about £25 or so but I guess the world is going Covid-19 mad.

No longer available. Did someone buy them??

To be honest I’ve given up on buying cards with the House of books. There’s no need when they’re published in the back, I have a load anyway and on top of that there are some awesome community reissues.

I guess for the hard core collector they’d want them but for everyone else...

Winning bid: £171. Wtf!

Just a thought, we all know what happened to the price of DV cultists once 8th dropped.
Could happen to the DI poxwalker sprue.
Anyone planning a scavvy gang might want to get the conversion fodder in now or be left with only the 6 easy build sculpts.
Although the last AOS core box did have its models put into some new start collecting boxes after the new addition.
EBay still has stuff going from dark imperium box set cheap. For now

It's always the case once stuff goes OOP, though models from WFB 8th edition and AoS 1st edition starter boxes did get re-released as their own 'Start Collecting' sets. (Similar happened to the 5th edition 40k AoBR set, which became Battle for Vedros or something like that.) No idea whether that might happen here.

They actually reissued the whole plastic sprue set from Dark Vengeance last year. Perhaps they’ll do more old sprue box set reissues in future.

That was a made to order, for the whole thing.
Although I do see a start collecting death guard box being a thing at some point. After all they made blades of khorne and the stormcast one out of the original AOS box stuff.
You can never quite tell what GW are going to do.

Apologies for the double post

Yep a made to order release. No reason why they couldn’t do more of those.

Anyway you were able to get the DA and Chaos models again without the obsolete rules, so it was still good. With more intelligent sprue design they could have made those two armies as actual Get Started sets.

It would have been nice to get the AoBR Orks released again as the Plastic Warboss and Deffcoptas were unavailable for years after it was discontinued. (Though I think the coptas were released as a single model in green plastic briefly)

I found one of these large plastic Matchbox boats at a thrift store and it's perfect for a sump boat. Quite big too, over a foot long, and well textured.

Hello Glufingers,

This is old news to some Yaks, but this Tehnolog site in Russia has some very good deals.

It must not be easy to place an order when every page is filled with cyrillic alphabet ?

And it looks like the miniatures aren't in the proper scale to be Necromunda proxies, around 38 mm (and you can see that for such a scale, their detailing is more of a platic toy soldiers range than a miniature one IMO) :

@Pierric I see what you mean. Personally I probably wouldn't buy the minis except as a joke or conversion fodder for something like cyborks in mega armor. But there are exceptions like ogres scale well and some look tempting. I can vouch for the terrain sprues though. Good point about the model's scale, there are different scales all over the site I think and you can't trust they will be 30mm. I agree the site is a pain, and possibly a risk. Some of the sprues can be gotten from boxes labeled Hexagon / Platformer / Syberclicks sometimes sold under the brand Pegasus. Those boxes are getting harder and harder to find in the US at a reasonable price, or at all. I do know of at least one model shop that mail orders those.

Sometimes I'm just pointing out options out there in the world, not telling anyone to go through a specific merchant. In this case Tehnolog is getting hard to find and it shouldn't be forgotten by any serious terrain builder.

Loads of old codex for $5 (U.S.) if anyone needs any. Tons of white dwarf back issues to wade through, tho.

I got my latest purchase of Alt Spyrers from these guys, mostly at half price or better!

Here's an option for Tehnolog without messing around with a Russian site. It's a basic box set with terrain, walkers, tracked vehicles, lame infantry but with very nice bits. Great for battlefield debris, Sentinels and mining vehicles. Ork Mekz can make the Killa Kanz , Warbuggies, and Deffkoptas waiting to happen!

Putting together the pieces as shown is just goofy, but using it as bits for conversions is well worth $50. My favorite bit is the techy infantry backpacks. Second highlight is the chunky guard rails. You will find stuff like the torsos are perfect size while the legs are more truescale/ Barbie stems. The driver arms look ridonkulous but are perfect for mutation arms flailing off all Chadly. A kid would like this too as it is all push fit or clip in I believe.

GW wants $75 for one terrain kit and it's very tasty, but I have a hard time saying no to $2 sprues over at the main Russian site. I might push the button on my big order there and re-up on a robogear set. It's one of the only affordable ways to get some of the Hexagon series of terrain system.
