Hmmm a crane? With magnets? Resin? Can you Yaks not see what he’s doing? Pah! What next LED smoke? A pirate ship?

A new enemy found the Troll has.

Ha! Actually the crane was the master plan of @ryanBSM after he suggested making the oil rig!

And actually the magnets are purely for helping with storage... having that much bugger removable is sensible..... in any case I'm not afraid of a little Trollrivalry.... definately not doing a pirate ship though - no sir. Got too much for the pile of shame including the Goliath Barge on my plate!

Always looks better when you prime it. Comes together.

Still can't figure out how to get the images to post the right way.

Dams are on. Time to thin bead some hot glue and then... pour resin.

Having a major mojo fail couple of days and this... well this is a big pour so should help. And yes..lightly sprayed the rig too.

Also just noticed terrain counts for FYSC so... this will likely be in this months submission at least....

Zero leakage with wood dams. I just used brown packing tape to seal the dams and a thin hot glue bead to seal gaps. Easy, cheap.

However... there is some shrinkage. Damnit. Can't really fix it with another pour either as I can't now seal the dams as I can't get the hot glue gun in the gap to put a seal in.

Might need to sand it all back to fall in line with the resin, or just leave the gap as it is. I DUNNO.

What’s the resin? Same as me?

I reckon you could fix it with another pour - I’m going with tape and transparencies still - no glue. I’m waiting on more resin but let’s see what happens!

To soothe my troubled mind (yes same resin) I made an organiser to add to my home made paint station (made the station 2 months ago with nothing more than 3" wide strips of 18mm MDF)

Paint station's WIP shots:

Since added this to the top made with 1.5" lengths of 40mm pvc pipe, solvent welded together and stuck into a wooden box, which was then stuck to the top shelf of the station:

Main issue now is these bad boys are now homeless, so I guess I'll just cut up the 32mm pvc pipe I have into 2.25" lengths and make a smaller stand just for them!!

Paints in pipes. That's a neat idea. Totes stealing that for when I have my mancave sorted and my paints don't have to live in a box. :D

Just get the solvent cement. Its basically what we use on minis on a bigger scale. Easy peasy.

I just made sure I had a straight edge to line up my first row of pipes and away you go.

40mm Pipe
Solvent Cement

I used a bench mounted circular saw to cut my pipe. Recommend having a hoover nearby.

Great stuff! That solvent cement should work on PVC as well.
This stuff says it bonds PVC and ABS. Both contain butanone as the solvent, which is basically the welding agent in poly cement (although the stuff you get in model shops has all kinds of additives to make it more glue-like, unless you go for the really runny cement, which is mostly solvent). [For the ultra curious]

Out of interest, what consistency is your big pot of solvent cement, runny or gloupy?

Its really thick and viscous. Which was handy.

The method was get a flat surface so that the front of all the tubes were level with one another. The rear of the tubes vary in length but thats hidden in the box I made to house them. Secondly, a second straight edge to line up the first row of 9 tubes. After that, keeping the rows straight was easy.

Once I cut the scrap OSB board to make the housing, I put it all together with glue and screws, spray painted black and wedged it into the paint station.

I'll be making more tubes to fit on my inclined sides to accommodate my dropper bottle paints.
