The LoTR Thread

That’s the thing, Sauron helped forge all the rings except the Three. And they knew it was Sauron, because he came with a fair appearance and claimed he had reformed. But Celebrimbor didn’t fully trust him, and forged the Three Elven Rings in secret. (The idea of magic rings being Celebrimbor’s idea and his current fascination is easy to let go). That’s the major plot-point I was referring to.

The lore-point is everything they did to mithril. And that part I find to be ridiculous and absurd.

Ah yes the mithril plot point was horrible as was the talk of making crowns. It needs to b circular to amplify the power...
Oh wait we dont have enough mithril for 3 crowns. hows about we make rings...yah rings will do. 😣

I will give credit on the Durin daddy issues. I like the dwarves. Much better than the PJs the Hobbit portrayal of them.

Yeah, I didn’t get them to be comic relief from the book version. But then again, The Hobbit trilogy had loads and loads of silly things in it.

So I had a few models arrive from my 3d printer guy.

Hmmm ... I was meant to be packing things away.

Back to Rings...

MCKAYs quote is disappointing. Was hoping the rumors were true they got sacked. I guess not.

PAYNE: “Season one opens with: Who is Galadriel? Where did she come from? What did she suffer? Why is she driven? We’re doing the same thing with Sauron in season two. We’ll fill in all the missing pieces.”

MCKAY: “Sauron can now just be Sauron. Like Tony Soprano or Walter White. He’s evil, but complexly evil. We felt like if we did that in season one, he’d overshadow everything else. So the first season is like Batman Begins, and the The Dark Knight is the next movie, with Sauron maneuvering out in the open. We’re really excited. Season two has a canonical story. There may well be viewers who are like, ‘This is the story we were hoping to get in season one!’ In season two, we’re giving it to them.”

Slight Bump.
Excited about Ride of the Rhohirrim.
Getting away from the mess that was the Hobbit and even bigger mess that Amazon made.
Should be out April '24

They are now releasing a few images.
Forgive if this was posted elsewhere I've been awol irl for a bit.
Story follows Helm Hammerhand some 200 years before the War of the Ring kicks off.
Establishes the lore behind Helms Deep.
Seeing some images of Mumak which would assume Harad are involved.
I thought this was just a battle of Vikings with Duneland vs. Rohan.

Anyone else have any info??
