Necromunda The Spire: An N17/N18 Praising Thread

“There’s 10 possible models, and a kit contains enough to make 7.” is something I read, but not a direct quote. My question is “WHHHYYYY?!?”

So I can only join. I have nothing but praise for the Inquisitor team set. I think it's great, also for example the Autosavant, Servitor and Skull.

It’s their design philosophy these days. Look at a Necromunda sprue: five bodies but enough parts to make 10.

If they really want me joining the Spire they’d just release some extra bodies for the kits.

I'd have liked two sprues of multipart guys plus one sprue with the scribe / servitor but meh I'll make do with 2 sets. May actually buy a major kill team release for a change as the cultists look good too.

3D printers help here - easier with standard Imperial Guard or Space Marines but some most excellent nerd somewhere will already be making extra body STL’s etc.

I’d like some more Necromunda Gang bodies but GW know that and purposely make 1/2 of them with unusual shoulder mounts and the other 1/2 with arms which connect in a random location anywhere from shoulder to wrist.

I was seriously thinking of casting up some Goliath bodies to use up the spare plastic and resin parts I have left over - then I decided to just convert some Juves up using the original 1995 plastic bodies and use spare heads and CC arms there.

I’ve built all three of those boxes of chaos dudes and they’re all awesome. Got to pay attention o some of them when snipping from the sprue though, it’s easy to cut a finger or weird spikey bit off if you’re not giving it your full attention.

I know this is outside the whole N17/N18 thing, but whatever you may think about Darktide, the game's atmosphere is amazing... some of it's a bit goofy, but you're basically running around *inside* all the expensive GW plastic terrain. In the Leman Russ factory they've got pieces of Russ hulls flying by on chains and the hull assemblies go together identically to the model kits.

I feel like I'm playing a grimdark Lego Worlds but while fighting a million zombies...

It is awesome. Was on the fence about the 2 Necromunda games that came out, but this capture so much of the same essence. It overlaps greatly with the essence of Necromunda and also parts of Kill Team. The new Inqusition team for example is basically Darktide? You get the good old iconic weaponry like laspistol, autogun, chainsword, catachan sword and so much more, without dabbling into the weird modern stuff.

Since I normally post in the Sump I thought maybe I'd try to balance it out and post something here in the Spire.

Why? I don't know.. too much Wild Snake maybe?

I would like to praise GW (just a little) for making Legions Imperialis and having it include Aeronautica Imperials and Adeptus Titanicus in it and not making it a completely separate entity model wise. As someone who is HEAVILY invested in each (as in I have at least ONE of EVERYTHING made for each game) being able to use AI (at least some of it anyway..) and AT models and terrain in a third game is a welcome option and will allow me to get more milage out of my minis.

My gaming friends and I are looking forward to trying it out as we all have Imperialis and Titanicus. I'll post a review after I've had a chance to read the rules and play.

MTO print copies of Rogue Trader you say?

Hah, I swear they've only done that because I finally cajoled someone into picking me up a copy from Warhammer World!

It's good that the international fans will finally have access to a reprint not via ludicrous ebay prices. It always seemed pretty odd that it was purely a WHW thing.

Where was this announced? Can’t see it anywhere on Warhammer Community or the website, or in the emails…
