Necromunda The Sump: General hobby venting thread (Beware:grumpy grognards)

I thought you were referring to 3rd (4th?) ed, when shootas and sluggas were introduced, using the same stats as boltguns and bolt pistols, but in 2nd ed shootas and sluggas simply didn't exist; the Ork codex and black book (from in the starter box) referred to boltguns and bolt pistols (for 3 points and 1 point, respectively, iirc).
Yes the latter was what I was referring to. That orks had boltguns and bolt pistols and that bikers had autocannons and the buggy had a heavy melta gun.

Not too bothered by vehicles ... I only like them in micro-scale so unless this set is in 6mm it will be a tough sell. I will check out the new factions if they are on foot.
I will pick up any new Orlocks. Ill probably skip the boxed set... unless it contains a ton of stuff that I like at a decent price.
Im not excited, or disappointed really.

Im a little miffed as it means Ratskins and Brats are probably not factions in the game. BUT at the same time it also means SPYRERS remain dead. Hopefully they are gone for good.

I don't see how you make the brats different enough to the other gangs with venators and scum gangs out there. And while I'd prefer Spyrers, I don't see how you'd make them as terrifying as they were originally - with the amount of specialised gangers out there.

I quite liked the Brat gang look back in the olden days... I think Spyrers were basically a re-imagining of them anyway.

Now that the team seem to be moving out of Hive Primus I can't really see them doing either for a long time if at all.

With all of the Specialist Gangers out there now most of the gimmicks of the old Spyrers are kinda old hat.

I'd assume you just stat them out like Brutes (though fewer models than the Slave Ogryn gang)...

Surely one of the maunfactoriums on necromunda are churning out that equipment. Even if they just ruled it that you could only get it on the black market. It would make sense anyway given the slave ogryns origins

I don't care so much for the cost. GW plastic will always be expensive, if that is worth it is entirely subjective. Regardless of cost, it is great terrain. But great terrain alone is not enough for me. I require primarily a good game, then ideally good terrain to go with it. Doesn't matter how nice the terrain is while the game suffers (and continues to suffer for the foreseeable future).

Well, what do you think of the Necromunda Zone Mortalis Underhive Sector? - After five years, is it a "gift" for loyal Necromunda Underhive and/or Zone Mortalis fans, or does GW just want to sell us more and maybe empty their shelves? Or is it even the end of releases for Zone Mortalis?
There is no gifts in Business, and that's fine.
I recently got a dark Uprising Box (the last of its kind, it seems), mostly for the terrain, and I love it. I'd gladly have more of it.
However, I put a lot of strain on my hobby budget lately, so I might want and have to refrain from the sector or wait till a bunch of unfinished projects find their way onto Ebay a year or so later. :D

Oops, sorry, didn't really know where to put this and just moved it to the "New models incoming" thread.

P.S.: But that's exactly why I posted this, to see how others rate the box.
