It is a worrying trend. We still plod on but the Troll is on one of his go slow periods.
I'm starting up again, with the new comp. Rather exited about the spyrer I'm building, hopefully it'll last!
Fired up the STC to print some man o war ships! Hopefully it might motivate me, can’t seem to get into the Ash Waste Nomads.
Damn, I can't wait for more Necromunda. Just finished out a campaign and while I loved it, all I can think about is more Necromunda
I partly blame the weather, though that should be changing now. I think I'm most productive in spring and autumn, when it's neither too hot nor too cold and wet. We have had a very wet winter/early spring, but it looks like things are starting to improve. I've been wearing shorts and we even had lunch in the garden the other day.
The other problem I face is that there's a lot of things that need doing to/around the house.
What's going on with X-wing? I've been checked out since AMG was forced by Asmodee to take it over (only bought the Mandalorian's ship since then to paint) and I haven't really heard much about it from other local players. I do know my local group has basically all shifted over to Legion but I'm not getting into another game...at this point.
Honestly I was always pretty offended by Custodes being an army in the first place (Grey Knights too)... not the sort of guys you'd expect to see 2k points worth of on such tiny battlefields. Models look ok, but they should be Forge World resin not mainline plastics.
I'm actually thinking of sorting my 1.0 cards and tokens out, but I do have what I consider a mostly full set of Rebels/Scum/Imps (no CR-90, but whatever) so no one will ever have to own their own figs.

I both agree and disagree.
Agree that Custodes and Grey Knights feel like they should be allies that you can hire a unit of occasionally.
Disagree that they should be ForgeWorld resin. Almost nothing should be, bar the occasional character and vehicle that’s so niche there’s no way it would made sense to plastic it.
For me, health. I have "bursts of energy" where I feel capable of doing stuff at the table. Take this past month or so as an example, after I finished my "Talisman" Dragon I airbrush undercoated my "Sisters of Sigmar" and put down some base coats, then until the weekend just gone (two or three weeks later) I didn't do anything at the table, then I had a run of 3 afternoons/evenings of painting the sisters, and since Monday evening I've not felt capable of doing any more...
The last couple of years have been worse than any before as I've effectively had to "hibernate" from June onwards until the cooler months arrive!
As for female Custards. Pffft. Don't like 'em ignore 'em, plenty of other lore and factions, is my £0.02 on that. Makes me laugh though, saw a 'tube video on the subject and the comments section was full of juvenile calls for a boycott of GW. Give me strength or a Bud light!

I have been a member of a German Discord group for quite some time but not anymore as they didn´t have any sense of humour. It was good practice over there to not only NOT PLAY any GW related game but also slam the entire company as often as possible. And this was even before Covid came along. This Custodes thing will be a Bud Light moment for GW as the next thing introduced in a couple of years will be FSM.
I compare it to finding out that the Tolkein Estate were retconning Galadriel to be a man and claiming that he has always been a man.
People who are invested in the lore would be rightly pissed by it. People who aren't invested in the lore probably don't care as it makes very little difference to the grand story and they weren't going to re-watch / read it anyway.

Asmodee forced Xwing from FFG to AMG. AMG then forced through a rules change which people dubbed 2.5 as opposed to FFGs Xwing 2.0.
Big changes included dumbing down squad building from 200pt fine control to crude 20pt plus ships having upgrade pts . Also changed bumping rules (ship contact). Also stopped supporting FFG app meaning the game became dependent on 3rd party squad building app given refusal to put points on cards. Changes actually made some cards& abilities invalid. But much like GW alot of the issue was in how they did it in terms of community communication. I think they also pissed off the tournament scene by not providing any support during the transition.
Beyond that all I know is my local active group folded with the organisers switching to Kill team.
These sort of situations always expose the lie that Games Workshop are a miniatures company and not a rules one.
If that were the case then A: no-one would care if they released something a bit different in their model range.
B: they wouldn’t be the company that they are now as barely no-one needs to buy these things as just mini sculptures with no purpose.
It’s very clear their entire business model hinges on game rules and background.
