Ah yes! Photogrammetry! I’d forgotten about that.

To do it you need really high quality overlapping photographs on a clean background… which is precisely what GW’s 360° previews offer!!

That really is a kick to the teeth while simultaneously getting kicked in the nether regions. Imagine putting all that work in to preview your products only for it to be the exact thing needed to make a rip off copy of your product.

I guess that feature will soon be getting retired then.

it's meshy ai (the 3D stl creator software)... it works from 2D photos
somebody showed me a result from an old gw model picture and the result is cleaner then a scan from an actual model

Hmmm I’ve just spent some time watching YouTube vids on 2D to 3D AI, wowsers it’s game changing. I’m pro AI in terms of what it can do but it’s scary how quick this is happening now.

The crazy part is that apparently it sold out instantly? I kinda lowkey wanted one for the joy of the model (I love my soul grinder), but was hesitating on the price... but yeah I guess they just made the rules very good? If so it's great it means I can buy one second hand for cheap once the 40k meta has moved onto the next hot thing

For under that price I just ordered an entire shieldmaiden warband containing more than I actually need to play Pillage with. 37 metal miniatures.

I wonder at what point GW will just release one model with a production run of 1 priced at a billion quid and not bother with anything else, safe in the knowledge that some idiot out there will buy it.

The model does look cool and it's quite big and chunky, but there's better ways to spend that sort of money.

And in contrast Warlord Games announced that an absolutely huge model for one of their Konflikt 47 campaigns will be released as a free STL for anyone to download and 3D print at home!

Im making one already, from a model found on cults3d. Absolutely massive thing (the ball is a three inches plasma ball... the models around are 28mm scale. Just to give an idea of the size of this thing, which is a terrain piece basically.

That reminds me: if you like narrative games, take my advice and go check out Festung Europa (or even just buy it, trust me). It's the 1st campaign book for konflikt 47 and it is AWESOME, it is exactly what I want a campaign book to be. It's well written, it's pretty, it's inspiring, and I definitely want to play all of it in the near future.

Sorry I'm failing at the sump... HOW DARE YOU, Warlords, making books that are SO good that they make me spend money on new armies and terrain and get involved with a new system? grrrrr

I am a huge zombie fan so the currently released zombies box of 45 zombies and two crab mechs looks very nice for a painting project though I have really my hands full now with other stuff. Will this box be around for a long time or will I have to bite the bullet and buy it soon?

I had been curious about K47, but really don't need another game/period.

[Edit: I did just order a new-to-me game (Rangers of Shadow Deep) but on the basis that I should be able to play it with my Frostgrave stuff.]

Do you mean the new Axis plastic zombies? The Totenkorps? They should be around for a long time I’d think as they’re new.

The Japanese Shobito ones are metal and will probably be replaced with plastic in the next year or so. Whenever Imperial Japan gets its update.
