Hi guys,

welcome to my Necromunda project! At first a few words to myself. I'm 26 years old and from southern Germany (please be lenient with my English :) ). I used to play Necromunda back in the days (like more than ten years ago) in the garage of a friend of mine. In the last years we hadn't any time to play, because of studies, job, sports or girlfriend.
But now, since studies are recently over, sport has taken a winter break and my girlfriend started her job some distance away, I found some time to get into the hobby again. (y)

At first a quick look at the models I have.
At moment I'm working on a Gang of the Redemption!
The core are the eight man from the box that was sold in the late 90s, which I want to enlarge through building some new members with flagellant stuff from whfb and some IA bitz from 40k.

I'm planning to built one or two bounty hunters too (must have as hunting redemtionist will earn you a lot of money) and some scummers.
The scummers are for my second gang, which is from house Orlock. I got some of the 90s metal models,
who are looking to get some love/paint.

I haven't found out yet how to upload pictures (can't click the button above), but as soon as I have, I will post some pictures from where I started and whats the current progress. :)

Best regards from Germany

Awesome, thanks very much for the hint!

So here we go, at first a look at the Orlocks.

I have a total of 14 models but miss a gangboss. This won't be a problem, either I will try to get one on the internet or I will build one myself. This ain't an issue right know, because I'm busy with the Redemption. :)
On the far right a ratskin can be seen. I painted him several years ago in 2007 I think. For his reinforcement I got some ratskin juves, who will be painted when I finished the rest.

Now, here a look at the Redemptionists. Originally only the zealot with the eviscerator was painted (One of the last models I painted befor I stopped back then). At this stage I have already been in my local hobby store to get some new paints and started to work on the models. The visit at the store took some time, because GW changed everything, now there are a look more paints for different occasions..very confusing.

This was two weeks ago. To this day I managed to paint six out of eight gang members. Due to the bad conditions I will make a pic in the morning, until then I will show you the progess so far without the one I finished today.

Thats the status so far, later I will post some close-ups (but not to close, there are some mistakes :D).

Current issue is how to equipt the last ganger. It's this poor guy here, whose pistols got stolen in the past.
Does anyone have a nice idea? :)

Best regards, comments and tips are much appreciated :)(y)

Good idea, didn't think about that before but will consider it depending on the bitz I have. Thought about to pimp him up to my Gangleader aka priest and give him some more prestigous weapons like a melter or/and a boltgun. In this case I could convert my current priest to the special character the Redeemer. Another alternative would be to build the Redeemer out of flagellant stuff. Anyway I want to have a model for him somewhere down the line. :)

Until I figured out, I will have some fun with these two here:

The repentina will enlarge my crusade by another Zealot and the other guy will become the first scrummer.

Hi everybody,

as said yesterday, here some pics of the latest finished ganger. Painting this model was not very easy, I liked the ones before a bit more. Hardest thing to do was the red of the robe, but in the end I'm happy with the model.

At the end another picture of the whole bunch of miniatures I painted so far.

Now I will prime the Repentina and the Scummer. Let's look how far I can get with them today, the rest of the week is going to be busy, as I have to work in my student job in a museum and season preperation starts tomorrow evening (during the whole break since december we had perfect weather conditions and now, right at the start its about 0°C and snow outside...this will be fun).

So far, best regards. :)

Thank you for your feedback! :)
Yesterday's painting session went well, I managed to finish the summer except for the base. I guess he could well be a former van saar ganger who did some bad things, which got him kicked out of his house . Maybe I will think a bit more on his history and write it down.

Here are some pics of this naughty guy, I made them this morning before leaving for work, that's the reason they're not that good. Apologies for that.

Having played around a bit with both, I really like the Frostgrave cultist kit for Redemptionists. Here's what I did with some of them. The flagellants are a really good it for conversions, but the cultists get the pointy hoods bundled in (of course, you do get enough spare hoods to combine both kits...). They're also £20 for 20, as opposed to the flagellants' cheap-for-GW £16 for 10.

You painting style is awesome! I love the colours you've used on the redemption too, Cant wait to see more.

As for ideas for the pistol-less ganger, may I humbly suggest:

Cool painting. I have impression that it's like cut out of comics page paper figure.
Thanks very much! I never thought about my style of painting, but comic-style sounds good. I like that. :D

I took a look at those Frostgrave miniatures, they look very good, thanks for this advice. (y) I already found a shop in Germany and plan to order a box at the beginning of February. Should be a good buy, especially regarding Mordheim, wich I have also in my mind for 2016. :)

Thanks for your compliment! The idea looks very good, are these your miniatures? Another advantages is that I could do it immediately with the bitz I have available. That would be very good regarding the finishing of this guy. (y)

I wish I was at this "not very good" level. ;) Nice work, can't wait to see more.
Thank you. :) I refered to the pictures, when I meant not very good. With the miniatures I'm satisfied so far, but there's always room for progress.

So Germans are taking over Yaktribe slowly. Nice. Though south is a little out of range.
(y) Just looked up your location, Hamburg is really far away, maybe we can meet, if I go to the Wacken Open Air. But that's not sure atm, because it's a very long drive (did it twice before) and sold out. Is there a Necromunda Community in the north?

Today nothing happened, I had no time and just came back from the first practice this year. -8°C was tough, but I enjoyed it big time. As a compensation now the two other pictures of the Scummer, which I wasn't able to upload with my Phone today.

I remember Wacken when there were like 3000 people, they never sold out back then. Things changed. Anyway, there's not any interest in Necromunda that I know of up here. I will try talking some people into it, once I have enough terrain and at least two gangs for a demo. I wanted to do that earlier, but I figured, if I've been out of the hobby for so many years, I can wait until I have something great to show. And I'm a slow worker, lacking of routine and trying to relax while doing a decent job. Ok, sometimes I'm just a lazy bastard. :D

3000 people at Wacken? When happened this? 30 years ago? :D

On which gangs are you working atm? Your strategy sounds good, similiar to mine.
I heard some rumors about GW re-releasing some Specialist Games in the future (first BB pics were already seen). Maybe Necromunda will be one of them. Should be a good opportunity to get some new players.

They are indeed my gang, link to the album with mases of necro stuff (including a cawdor/redemptionist gang) is : https://yaktribe.games/community/gallery/albums/spafes-necromunda-stuff.24/

Quality biker/orlock ganger. Are you going to expand them to a full gang or is he to lead the life of a scummer forever?
Thanks for the link to your album, they look really good, you really have some treasures in your collection. :)

I don't know where the scummer will end up yet. I got already 14 Orlocks, which will be painted as soon as I will have finished the Redemption.
But I'm pretty sure he weill get some company one way or the other. :)

As an update I'm very sorry but I am very busy atm, but nevertheless hope to show some progress on the repentia tomorrow.

Best regards (y)

Almost, yes. First time I went was 1994. I think at the time it was still in June or July and I paid 29 DM for the ticket! The main stage was partly a trailer and the party stage was a beer tent. You could win a pack of tobacco if you drove in a nail with one hit and there was one small tent with a pinball machine and two or three video games. That's all they had and it wasn't the stress of running between stages and all that there is today. They still had some great bands there and most of the guys where available for a chat and a drink. They also had their own shots called Schädelspalter and most people were drinking them and a lot of them just threw them away, which was great, because there was a 0,50 DM deposit and you just needed to pick up five of the small bottles from the ground and get you the next drink. I left with about 40 DM plus, because I couldn't drink as much as I found bottles. As I didn't smoke back then, but was quite good at the nailgame, I always had something to trade for beer either. Good thing for an always broke juvenile.
Financially it didn't go well for the organisers though until they broke even for the first time with the Onkelz in 1996. That's when it all changed and as much as I'm glad they are making a profit with their work, the informal atmosphere was lost quickly.

I like playing brawny characters in almost any game, so when I split the gangs from the box back then with a friend who had given me half of the figures from his Gorkamorka box, I picked Goliath. I never had any other original Necromunda miniatures, so I try to convert other figures now to make the gang more interesting. As I of course like tough girls with guns, Escher was an obvious choice. I should have enough figures for a start and probably anything else, but as I didn't decide about the characters and weapons yet, there's a lot undone. I have a thread here and try to keep track, if you're interested.

That sounds awesome. I've been to a couple of Black Metal Festivals some years ago, they were small and cheap. That was a very big difference to what I experienced at bigger festials. Glad to hear that you made some good money, too. :D
Yeah I heard before that the Onkelz made them big for the first time, the price was for sure the atmosphere.

I had some time to look into your thread, it looks very interesting and I will follow your progress. :)

Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy last week and over the weekend. I finished the Repentia and could improve my speed, so thats good. :)
SAM_1199.JPG SAM_1200.JPGSAM_1212.JPG

For this week I'm planning to equipt the last ganger. I think I will go with a similar solution as it was posted by spafe, the bolter is fixed, maybe I will give him a chainsword in the right hand. In this case I could field him as gangboss, which would be not bad.

For the competition I decided to built the Redeemer and his buddy Malakev. Atm I'm trying to get my hands on some bitz. As soon as this is over I will post a pic of the parts I'm using and a more detailed plan how I want to do it. At moment there are several alternatives, like building the redeemer based on a Priest or on a flagellant body.

Best regards and see you soon :)
