I remember the Stillmania articles from the long long ago. Unfortunately my snail like pace at this hobby means I still haven't even got round to reading my old world rulebook. So can't say anything about competitiveness. Might have started to get my little green ones painted as the next edition rolls in.

It's got a bit of everything so looks like it will make a good core to start with. I know the Stillmania articles suggested sticking with a list and not changing it. However I feel that's more of a don't flip flops continuously between lists.

If getting cheap stuff is a priority old 4th ed Doom divers are often very cheap on eBay. I picked up 3 in the £10-15 range when old world was released.

I've probably not been much help. Came here to say goblins rule mostly.
