Tony Thunderhawk’s Pro Hover Tournament 2020
(December Festive Online Yak Event)

......Thank @Space Truckin....

Greetings yaks and welcome to a very daft online game that I just made up last night!
Everyone really LOVES the new Van saar hover boarders, right!?
So here’s your chance of flying your own, by entering the very first (possibly only) Tony Thunderhawk Pro Hoverboard Tournament!!!

All you need to do to enter is roll 30 online dice and post them to this thread!
For every five die, look for multiples and consult the trick chart!
Each multiple will give you a completed trick plus score, which is summed up to give your total run score!
if no trick is made (no multiple die) the run ends immediately and any score after is lost (you merely thought about doing that trick)

The event officially begins on the 1st of December, and will end sometime before Christmas Eve.
The first two weeks will be open hovering, so yaks may skim the sludge pipe as much as they like!
At the end of the two weeks, all competing yaks will be paired up in accordance to their highest score and will go head to head in a knockout tournament!

i don’t know how well this will work, but I’ll be back as soon as I can with the trick lists, and hopefully we can grind some adamantium and catch some fetid air together!

Merry Christmas All!
Cap

Did a test run down the sludge pipe and I had at least one double in every set of five; having a run of singles to stop a run is unlikely.

Scored two hardflips, a kickflip, a heelflip, and two shove its (I had two doubles on the same line), for 1300 points; since this is just a trial run I'm not thinking of posting the screen shot since it shouldn't count - just stating what I got as a trial run.

your Score may be higher as a second double multiplies that trick!
iv created an example run in the first post! (I scored 1700 😋)

Nollie+hand plant (400pts) followed by an ollie (0pts) to keep the run going then a spectacular wipe out to kill my combo.

The system seems idiot proof. Same can't be said for power boards.😆

Chad "Concussion" Fragman loads his shotgun to blast any sump detritus out of the way and lines up for a practice run...

He pulls a Fastplant, an Ollie, two Kickflips, an Ollie and finishes on a Nollie before crashing into a low hanging girder and plopping cursing into the Sumpway.

250+0+100+100+0+200=650. Must try harder :ROFLMAO:

It means he performed a simple Ollie! (Rolled double 1)

Speaking of Stoof: a very talented, smart and some might say, roguishly hansome yak has sent me some very good advancement rules! If you wish to improve your hover(/power)board before the grand tournement, check out the opening post for details!

And thus the ZIM was created:

*if you bail mid run, and your last trick was an Ollie, it becomes a Zim and is worth 5 points.

😋😁
Nollie+hand plant (400pts) followed by an ollie (0pts) to keep the run going then a spectacular wipe out to kill my combo.
Up to 405pts with the world's first recorded "Zim" which I totally meant to do.😉

I think I might have used all of my luck for this game in one practice run

Concussion Fragman steels himself at the top of the slugepipe, takes a barely-filtered deep breath of something vaguely resembling air and shoves off the edge... he launches up the other side into a Hardflip, coasting smoothly into an Indy Nosebone, followed by a Shove It Handplant combo, a Shove It 50-50 Grind combo, Indy Nosebone and finishing on a Nollie

300 + 315 + (250 x 2) + (250 x 2) + 315 + 200 = 2130

AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!

THE 2020 TONY THUNDERHAWK PRO HOVER TOURNEMENT HOVER PARK AND SLUDGE PIPE ARE NOW OPEN!

You all have two weeks to improve your boards and try to catch the eyes of the sponsors!
Good luck yaks and safe hovering!

+this is the imperium, only one judge and 4 scribes, The Emperor protects.

The first contestant takes to the Pipe! He stands proudly at the top. Those who witnessed his spectacular test run yesterday watch expectantly!

He surveys the pipe through the mists rising from the trickle of slop in the bottom.

He pushes off the edge... and realises he forgot to activate the antigrav trucks on his board. With a screech of metal and sparks he slides down the pipe, hits a weld badly and is thrown flailing into the stinking slop.

The slime gently corroding his flesh disguises the flush of embarrasment washing over him as the crowd bursts out laughing. He drags his board from the pipe. Maybe next time...

Screenshot_20201129-182643~2.png

(@CaptainDangerous - Is there a limit to how many runs you can make a day? There probably should be due to the upgrades available. 2 maybe?)

I think if you wanted to stay sane you might limit yourself to two runs a day!
As long as your runs have unique time stamps then you have my blessing to go balls to the wall!

Remember tho: you need three ‘clean‘ runs to get an upgrade! 😄😄

1- Shove It 250 +nose grind (500)
2- Ollie 0
3- heelflip 100
4- hardflip 300
5- Nollie 200 + handplant (400)
6- Rocket Air 367

total 1667!

+an observant viewer might have noticed him throw some kind of incriminating power cable snipping tool....

Neville steps up to the pipe, sweat running down behind his mask and stinging his eyes. As he goes to push off, he falters and drops unceremoniously.

Luckily, he catches himself in a handplant heelflip, swinging into a 180 ollie followed by back to back nollies. He bounces off a wall with a hardflip, before finishing with a simple ollie and landing awkwardly.

100 x2 + 50 + 200 + 200 + 300 + 0 = 950

I've assumed for that first trick I count the higher scores first, not the order they rolled, so if I'm wrong let me know and I'll change it.
