Apologies that iv not consulted the committee first, but iv got some weirdboy thoughts and have misplaced my copper staff!

I hate saying this, I had a great time the other week and played some top quality yaks (I even managed to win a game!?!), but I’m feeling abit munda’d out!
Also, I couldn’t help but notice the sadly quiet side room at our tribemeet venue, usually the scene of an epic Saturday night space battle!

So I was thinking: Could there be room for a side event of sorts, would folks be interested and if so, what would be played?

Let me know your thoughts and if there’s enough interest, I’ll pester the commitee!

P.S. I’m also curious to how interested folks are in playing newmunda, so iv bolted that on to the poll?!

Just so there’s no confusion, this isn’t an official thread. All the games listed are all the games I, the Captain, enjoy/want to play.
Bolt action could quite easlily be a part of next years event, but it’s not something I’d be involved with.

hmmm.... i thought all the Yaks were playing BA now...
It’s a bit too real for me. Even napolionics, with their bright coats, funny hats, and unreliable weaponry, is detracted enough for me to enjoy.
iv probably watched too many WW1+2 documentaries for my own good.

Inquisitor or Inq28 aren’t on the list, but I suspect that is because it’s not on the Captain’s radar. Does anyone know a game that suits inquisitor scale but a more intuitive system? My impression of Inq28 is that it leans more towards tactical play than intrigue meets tabletop. Maybe an rpg. Or Inquisitor but a lot of rules deliberately ignored?

I voted even though the chances of me getting there are slim to zero. But is there a date to start working towards?

Similarly, Last Days: Zombie Apocalypse isn't on the list, but then there's a bunch of systems that I'm aware of and haven't played that aren't on that list either (Lunar, Baron's War, Midnight's Edge, Ronin, BotWar etc).

I think that, despite how extensive the list could be, there will always be systems that could be on the list, and the more that get added the more diluted the intent becomes. I'm guessing that the sideroom needs to be at most 3 systems (to focus effort and ensure enough players instead of diluting people across too many games), with potentially at least 2 tables (or tables' worth of terrain) per system (to ensure people can play different terrain or play smaller games simultaneously). A system would also need to appeal in terms of familiarity, potential pre-existing model availability, popularity etc.

RPGs would be my main thought as an "alternative" to Inquisitor; there's a fair few systems that could suffice, and some are even 40k based if that was a necessity. I did have a plan to run an RPG last year, but there wasn't any interest/discussion on the forum before the event, so I'm not sure how well one would actually go down (I ended up being ill so couldn't attend).

I would always assume September, although I myself was caught out by how early this year's event was - I was presuming a "later in September" date as with previous years.

A very good point.

Also worth thinking that several of these games use roughly the same terrain or similar miniatures.

Shadow War: Armageddon for example could be played on any of the regular Underhive tables in downtime from Necromunda (ORB-Present Day).

Likewise depending on terrain an Ash Wastes Board could be used for Modern Necromunda, Old with additions, Gorkamorka, 40k 2nd and with minor tweaks on building scale (if any) Gaslands.

So all those games could be presented in the main hall on the main tables depending on who wants to play what.

Warhammer Fantasy and Pillage and SAGA could all be on the same table of terrain with just one or two building swaps.

If the intention is to use the side room then it probably should be for things that have either very specific terrain or is easily set up/taken down. Not really much point in setting up a multi-level hive in the side room for Shadow War when there’s about 20 of them next door.
