TribeMeet2019UK - NCE

Thanks guys for the kind words about the table, I'm thrilled that it got played on and would love to hear any thoughts on improvements etc. I am hoping to make it next year for sure
If the table could get another side to it, so it could sit central on a table and people could go through gaps from one side to another, it would be pretty good; it might also stop some of the levels full of gaps and such from being unappealing to deploy to.

Maybe also consider making the paths a little wider, e.g. two or three bases abreast; it would better allow for large base models or easier movement of models, and/or more models to get into close combat. The areas where the paths stuck out (to form the base) saw more action when I was playing on it because there was more room to move the models around.

I know there'll possibly be some comparison to the vertical board that appeared in WD 207, which had the above suggestions, but it seems as though that board was made of thick wood and weighed a tonne, so I don't know how best to implement my suggestions in a light but structurally sound manner.

For a moment there I thought you were saying the 2020 Tribemeat was going to be in the Octagon and I got all excited!

Some interesting thoughts there, they are much appreciated!

The parts were designed to be 40mm wide, though in hindsight I should have made them a few mm wider as currently the 40mm bases don't really fit unfortunately.

If I get round to returning my attention to the vertical board I may make more of the A4 sized panels which could indeed allow for cut throughs and with a different backing boards/structures; it could therefore be made to have more than one side.

The board is certainly not without it's faults, but I am just happy to have been able to make it tbh, it was a mammoth undertaking that consumed my spare time for about 5 months. It might be quite some time before I can commit the same sort of time again though :(.

Thanks again guys!

Just to clarify, I really enjoyed the game I played on the board; the presentation of the board and the modular design reflects the amount of time and effort you put into it.

It was definitely a lot of fun to play on, and it made me have to think in a more "vertical" manner than my usual necromunda games, which was a refreshing challenge.

Question. The closing fluff had a chimera and a valkery. Were These in the final scenario or just part off the fluff? Because I think a flyer would make an awesome end of the meet boss fight.

Yeah you would think that but it turns out any punk with a plasma cannon can wreck a valkyrie's day :(
The arbites were just for the finale boss fight game, due to the number of gangs we buffed them with vehicles, on my table I had an ed 209 with heavy bolters, spafe had a taurox/chimera with twin heavy stubbers and stoof had some extra arbites?

They were there alright. There are persistent rumours that the Valkyrie was shot down by a Van Saar armed with a plasma cannon, but these are clearly preposterous lies being spread by malcontents and heretics.

I mean, where would a civilian even get military hardware like that? Pah!

Both were present. On the center table the APC performed covering fire and a spawn point for more arbites to join the fray, until the position was lost, being overrun by a giant orange yak who destroyed the tank

The right table (from the enforcers point of view), had the valkyri turn up to try and airlift the hospitalar sister to freedom and drop of a strike team of kasrkin, but it was then blown from the sky by a vansaar heavy plasma cannon on take off, all aboard presumed lost...
