Two handed weapon and basic weapon. Equipped on Same dude?

If I remember correctly, in ORB you couldn't use two close combat weapons at all if you had a basic weapon.

NCE is actually more lax, because it allows you to use two weapons, you just don't get the extra attack dice.

Was there a weapon sling in the LRB? I seem to remember something although it could have been some fan rules. I admit I didn't play with the ORB or LRB much.

.oO(trollmeat has strong opinions about massive weapons)

So, um,.. about the Basic Weapons + Massive Weapon...

It is a great combo because you can carry a Basic and still get all the strength and charge bonuses of the Massive Weapon, but the Drawback is the Draws. As the rules stand, it is no more ponderous and clumsy to carry only as Massive Weapon than it is to carry one as well as slinging a basic weapon over your shoulder.

This works quite well fluff-wise, and the rules of how awkward it is are fine as is. If the only firearm options for a dude with a massive weapon was from the pistols range, then it would not be worth taking it at all.

+ The hidden bonus for buying a pistol is that, even if you buy no other pistols/cc weapons, you get +1A as long as you don't buy a Basic+.
- The hidden negative for buying a basic is that, no matter how many pistols and cc weapons you buy, you can't get +1A.
~ using a massive weapon means you can't get +1A, no matter what other weapons you carry.
= Massive Weapons are a great option for Heavies, especially if they have advanced with +1A, or for anyone shooty that wants to discourage people from charging in...

.oO(trollmeat could go on, but that will be all, for now... just gotta stop people getting ideas about changing Massive Weapon rules)

The rule for Encumbered will hold him back for a bit but for the hits he land's those are gonna be be big squashers. You have a pic? I'm thinking Harker would be a good sized mini to be the 7' 400lbs equivalent. Big gnarly two hander strapped on him would be a pretty good conversion for a Goliath.
