I planning to trial game with some borrowed models soon to see if I like the game, I always been a fan of Tyranids in the past so thats what I going with.

But I am undecided if I will go with 3 Warriors, 7x Hormgaunts everything with Adrenal Glands for dependable charge, or if I should drop the Glands on all but 2 of my warriors and grab 9x Hormgaunts.

So debate is between 10 fast or 12 slower.

thoughts?

I would try the 10 fast... It's still more than enough models to overwhelm most teams pretty quickly and if caught halfway the extra hormagaunts won't last long...
It feels appropriate to throw a really fast wave of nids at people....

Having fast dudes is probably worth it, because you can really overwhelm your opponent, moreso I would say with 1" per guy than with two more guys...

Lictors are good, but very fragile.

yeah, but their save kinda sucks, and for some reason everyone just wants to kill them at all cost... which in itself works well as a distraction carnifex, if you use them well. So in the end the lictor is the clown that runs around, and soaks attention and shots, while grunts and wareiors do the actual killing. Also move 9" is amazing.

Nids are by far my favorite kill team to play as there are a number of different viable builds that play very differently. Genestealers are a favorite of most but they just never performed well for me. So swarms of gaunts with warriors and Lictors stomping around is where it is. Lots of bodies with scary speed and big threats to draw attention.

Lictors are fantastic in game but don't quite have the survivability that you would think. A few bad dice rolls to overwatch or over-commiting will see them off the table quick.

Far and away the MVP of most games are the Hormagaunts, whether taking objectives or drowning HTH specialists in bodies, they are the real work horses
