I’ve seen it asked a few times in the rest of the forum but any progress on adding Chaos/Genestealer corruption to House gangs?

Either way, thanks for the great gang construction tools!

Hello, it's seem that helot cultists lost access to special weapon.
There are two profile options for ganger equivalents in each gang; regular and ‘specialist’. Regular Ganger profiles don’t have access to special weapons, the specialist profiles do. With chaos cultists, helot cultists don’t have special weapons, helot specialists do.

Strictly speaking, those rules only apply to the gangs with their "House of"-lists. GSC and Chaos cults (and Cawdor and Delaque, for a few more months) have free access to special weapons on their gangers (but don't get the free specialist). Unless there's been a FAQ I haven't seen.

When I inputted weapon restrictions I definitely didn’t take this into account, so thanks for pointing this caveat out, and any others who have and I’ve missed the point 😂 I’m running it past the boss to see how to proceed, I personally like having less clutter where weapon options are concerned and giving regular gangers special weapon access may confuse the ‘specialist’ restriction for House of... users, but would certainly be more accurate for GOTU players. GOTU players selecting a Specialist to access special weapons doesn’t make that much difference apart from them being labelled a specialist in the fighter cards which obviously isn’t correct and could confuse the spending of xp, so I can see the importance of the distinction 👍🏻

Yeah, I'm thinking it would be easier to just allow gangers access to special weapons and assume players know the rules... unless you could differentiate between GOTU gangs and HOX gangs of the same House.

We implemented the HOX restrictions for everyone (one free Specialist when starting, no special weapons for other gangers) in our current campaign, but as a GSC player I am considering whether I'd rather play GSC by-the-book: No specialists, but free access to special weapons (and trade post!) for gangers. It might balance out the lack of HOX special treatment. But anyways.

I’ll definitely be sorting the GSC and Chaos guys out to match Book of Ruin, I inputted that and have used the same method as House Of... which is incorrect. I think it will be resolved as you say, just want to run it past the tech-priest to ensure I’m not committing some techno-heresy that eludes my simple mind.

I have altered GSC and Chaos Cultist Ganger types to have uniform access to special weapons as per Book of Ruin.
Players who wish to play GSC or Chaos cult with House Of... specialist Ganger restrictions can simply allocate the fighter as a specialist using that option.

I’m also realising that I’m getting the wrong end of the stick a bit here too. I’m also thinking this applies to regular house gangs but it is specific to the GSC and Chaos Helot gangs. Other gangs with House Of... books can be set up as either House Of... or Gangs Of The Underhive variants, which accommodates these variations in weapon availability. So this should all be resolved now, no need to wait for authorisation from above.

I'm starting work on House of Artifice tonight and once complete, will be addressing some other outstanding issues reported.

Now back to your regular Yaktribe programming...

Thanks so much Malo! Looking forward to the HoA additions

House of Artifice Update
  • Updated existing Van Saar to Van Saar (GotU)
  • Added Van Saar (HoA) gang and fighter types
  • Added Cogitator Core Servitor, Tech-merchant and Data-scrivener
  • Added new weapons and equipment
  • Updated Battle editor with new scenarios
I still need to add some profiles for the new weapons but otherwise I think I have every right?

S values for the Genestealer Cult Alpha and Acolyte are still reversed from their values as given in the Book of Ruin (BoR lists the Alpha as S4 and the Acoyltes as S3; the gang builder too still has the Alpha at S3 and the Acolyte at S4).

If you're including non-Van Saar things, here's what I've noticed:
  • Escher Specialists are missing the Smoke Grenade Ammo option for Grenade Launchers.
  • The Escher Phyrr Cat pets are, according to the FAQ, suppose to cost 120 credits in all instances, not 130, despite their listing in the house lists.
  • The 'Add Hired Gun/Pets' option is not deducting it's cost from the stash credits, though it is still checking to make sure you have enough credits for the purchase.

That is all I've discovered. I'll tinker with a Van Saar list tomorrow and report anything I discover.

Also, thanks for the HOA update! :D
