Update Underhive Tools Development

Not yet, no. Nor is there an estimate of when there might be such. A few folks (myself included) have created template Spyrer gangs, say, or Malstrain gangs, to copy and then fiddle about with to get the desired composition, if you browse the Custom Gangs. That should be able to get you by.

Plus it is getting rather complete already. Most of us rather support this site, but given it isn't allowed and there is no progress, I'd rather go for that. Which is sad, I really like this site. But between Necroraw and Mundamanager, I have almost the same capability and I see progress. Perhaps they can collaborate? Host it next to the old tools in stead of the new Necromunda tools? It's a lot less pressure on our wonderful host who takes it all on himself now.

I'm sure it's an immense amount of work. And anyone who embarks on it is (understandably) protective of their efforts, so they all seem to putter out when the creator loses steam.

MM does have a development team (I'm even on it, though I can't code, so I just support with data entry), so at least from that standpoint there's a stronger foundation.
We'll see in a few years time. It starts simple. Fighter can have equipment, weapons, pets, vehicle. Vehicle can have equipment, weapons and pets. Pets can have weapon options. Weapons can have upgrades. Each weapon got a profile, some got 2, some are combi and some can take ammo (all similar but different). Used to be Leader, Champions, Gangers and Juves. Then specialist champ and specialist juve. Bounty Hunters, Agents, Hive Scum... it goes on and on!

Yeah, and even more than that, virtually every system interacts with every other system. There are so many interlocking effects and dependencies, that it is very difficult to work on one aspect of the game in isolation. That's part of why I'm excited by MM. The coders are really taking a hard look at how best to set up the tools to take those interactions into account. So while on the surface, MM has huge gaps and isn't really usable for much at the moment, the underlying foundational work is progressing and when it's all done, a huge amount of functionality will be added within a short order.

Stoof & Clockworkorange are still maintaining the forum, but they are engaged in a running battle against the Temu serfs.
(just send a short message to Stoof or Clockwork ;) )

This site is no longer being updated. There are still admins who do eventually approve people, but at this point Yaktribe's functionality for Necromunda is obsolete.

There's a lot more to YakTribe than some obsolete tools.

Yes, the Newmunda system is out of date for the latest versions of the game, but there are many, many people still actively using them and capable of working round the issues. Indeed, the new members approval requests are from people able to continue using the tools.

Plus the tools for OG Necromunda/NCE are still available (Try NCE people!)

On top of that, there are a huge number of members who never use the tools anyway and are here for the community - we welcome new members for the events, modelling, rules discussions etc (we burn Temu bots). In fact we actively want people to get engaged beyond just using the tools - there's lots of fun to be had.

This site has active forums, is running its 56th modelling competition, and is preparing for TribeMeet 2025!

Welcome @WEBKairos and @Captainup apologies for any delay, it’s a mystery why so many Temu bots can seemingly get through security but some humans cannot?

@LeperColony apologies we do our best to keep the lights on in our little corner of the internet, don’t like what we do? 🤷‍♂️ this place is the community, not the tools.

I don't think mentioning Mundamanager or Gyrinx is an issue. The Yaktribe tool is not Stoofs & Clockworks project.
As I understand it they both have limited acces to some parts of the site. I don't know the specifics and I don't think that should be discussed publicly.

As for your earlier idea for a pinned message in the Mechanicum, that would actually be a good idea.

It's a valid request, we can compose a post on the state of play with the tools to sticky.

I also have no issue with people suggesting alternative tools, just people whose only purpose in being here seems to be telling new people to go elsewhere instead.

How about we create a thread that lists out the alternatives and honest pros and cons of each service.

If I’m honest I don’t use the gang manager myself, I’m just interested in keeping the forums going, it represents a hefty period of my hobby life these days.

My one condition to this is that people don’t constantly keep posting that this site is dead etc. I can and will take measures to stop that.

To most this is a free service, the majority don’t contribute to the sites upkeep, so please don’t complain at its state of updatedness. In @Malo absence I seem to have been left with the most access to the inner workings of the site. However, his last post suggested getting the most recent rules to work was a major overhaul of the code, and in truth following a cease and desist from GW I think he lost interest. You also have to remember that a lot of us oldies dearly love the old version of the rules.

Edited Ramble over, sorry pressed post by mistake.

The site no longer being updated isn't the same as the site being dead. There's still plenty of value in Yaktribe. There's the forums, there's the N98 tools, there's the support for other games, and there's even the N17 tools for those who prefer them.

I like Yaktribe. But I care about Necromunda more.

Great I like to believe that Yaktribe kept the Necromunda fire alive so that GW could create and sell Newmunda.

As above I’m happy for you to create a thread on here about the various tools available to people. Please be honest with the pros and cons of each, either myself or @Stoof will sticky it for you.

Edit - if we get defensive I apologise we love both Yaktribe and Necromunda 😜
