Our group is somewhat confused as to how Unstoppable Behemoth works in practice:
“Play this card after an attack is made against one of your fighters, before the Injury roll (if any) is made.
The attack has no further effect - no Injury roll is made. In addition, if your fighter is pinned, they immediately stand up.”
So the question is when exactly it can be played, and the potential effect when it does. Our initial reading was that it just stops the injury dice being rolled (and gets you back on your feet). Any damage done still applies - if a plasma gun knocked you from 2 wounds to 0, you don’t get the wounds back.
The confusion stems from the “(if any)” in the “before the Injury roll (if any) is made” sentence. If no injury roll applies, why would you play the card? One theory was that the card doesn’t just avoid the injury roll, it actually stops the attack causing any damage at all. So if a 3 wounds character loses 2 wounds, he could play this card to negate the damage. Or if he took 8 wounds in one hit, he wouldn’t just ignore the injury roll, he’d also remain on 3 wounds - the attack would have no effect.
Basically it comes down to whether the card blocks attacks entirely, or just negates injury rolls?
