Van Saar Campaign - can't decide!

Van Saar gang for a campaign, struggling to choose between these and Goliath. Both very different play styles, I prefer melee but I really like the look/background of Van Saar. Build below

Plan would be
- upgrade leader with shield and shock stave,
- give munitioneer champion a plasma cannon down the line, and pass his plasma/las off to a ganger later (if legal?)
- Mesh armour all around,
- Sprinkle some more shock staves around as well so I at least stand a chance in melee

I should be able to convert two plasma/las, I've got heaps of imperial guard lasguns lying around. That will tie me over until the FW packs come out

Thoughts and critiques?
 
I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think it looks solid enough, but I'd have to sit down and mull it over.

The only issue I see is that outside of the plasma (which has potential to go wrong), you've not got a lot of 'punch'. Las-weapons are good, but it really helps to have that supression laser and some grenades.

I played a couple of skirmish games recently, and especially when you have already flesh wounded a ganger for that -1T, the supression Laser really comes into it's own.

I took a champion with supression laser and rad grenades, and the Fast shot skill. when he got close enough, he threw a grenade which when it hits causes an automatic flesh wound, then as shooting counts as a simple action rather than a basic action then he could shoot his supression laser as well.
to combo this nicely, my leader took the overwatch skill, so this champion could run up close to an opponant that had already activated using the champions actions, then using the leaders actions shot twice...

My only thought is that you don’t have a reliable way to deal with a stimmed up Goliath champ in your face (maybe the gunfighter, but that would have to be right by him).

Thanks for the feedback all.

Would there be benefit to swapping the combi plas champion to just a plasma gun? Then would have leader with las/plas, champ with plasma gun and champ 2 with a plasma pistol? Or maybe even get rid of the las sub carbine on champ 2, give him a suppression las with some grenades and fast shot as The Forgemaster has used with good effect?
 
If its campaign, drop the carbine style weapon for regular versions, and upgrade during campaign with hotshot, Hotshot variants are slightly more powerful than carbine, plus better accuracy due to long short range.

It also gives you more starting credits to spare
