Also painted a replacement Darkoath Chieftain (used the original boxset model to lead my Warcry Barbarians).
Again, minor modification of a lovely model:
And a third Screamer of Tzeentch, this time the possessed metal disc type thingy. Though I hope we‘ll never ever actually encounter three of these at once!
Sobek painted up a …let me look that up again… Tenebrael Shard… for the Silver Tower game.
Model is an old Dark Elves Assassin I got off of ebay years ago. This project has been going for a while. But such is this hobby, heh?
Those of you who have been following this project log may remember that one of the main themes for my custom hero models in this Tzeentchian labyrinth is religion and faith in god(s). Like different gods of the Warhammer World fighting to win over heroes to pit against the minions of Tzeentch.
Khaine be praised to guide his curved daggers. Or Khorne*. Semantics.
*Gotta say the old ideas and concepts around the Gods of Chaos and basically any diety in the Warhammer World were way more interesting. Like Chaos Gods and their daemons being mirrors for strong and powerful emotions of the mortals, such as envy, rage, lust. These days they’re more like one of four basic colour schemes with a theme going through the model range like birds or funny farts. Nurgle is really the worst. That current Plague Marine range or some of the newer deamons... And there is Khorne Priests now? And those flail-axes? Excuse me?
But I get that IP and branding is important and „these are the jolly fat daemons that bring disease“ is more approachable than „the Realms of Chaos is a concept barely comprehensible by mere humans“. The old stuff was just more interesting. Anyway.
Played some Silver Tower when the year changed numbers. Such a pretty game.
First game was a Dwarf slayer guy, a shadow mage and a barbarian brawler in the realm of I forgot. Death? Probably. There is eight dungeons each heavily influenced by one of the realms of magic the old Warhammer magic lore used. Yeah, probably death.
Second quest, first room: Meet magic rat man ninja assassin. Glad we killed him before it was his turn (very lucky rolls and that Slayer can do some work), as there is a reaction where a Doppelganger appears and suddenly there is no way to find out which one to kill and which one is all smoke and mirrors until you kill this tough guy.
