My name is danish for With Mash. Have seen a few menus with an option for either rice or mashed potatoes, and given the choice I always go with mash. ;) Had to have a name, so there... Nothing spectacular or heroic here either.

In fallout 2 there is a character called Dangerous Dan Mcgrew, which grew even cooler when rimmer (from red dwarf) plays an identically named badass character in a Wild West simulation! I also like that it could be interpreted as either being macho or detrimental.
And the captain all stems from rimmer, (my avatar also) he is my spiritual leige! I love that he fantasises about being a captain and man of authority, but when it comes to the crunch he just crumbles, every time! There is absolutely nothing at all lovable about him but I just can't help loving him, is probibly the shortest way of explaining it!
I'll not regale (/bore) you all of his exploits, but the one stand out for me is that he meets a version of himself from a different dimension where he has achieved everything he desires (re:ace rimmer), he absolutely hates it so tries to kill him!
Since joining the tribe tho, my alter ego has picked up elements of Kirk, Branagan, Scarlett and Powers.
+++yeah baby+++
:p:D

Mine is a simple mix of two of my favorite things. I’m an old punk (discovered it in 1984) that has played bass in a few local bands over the years, but stopped playing out when my third son was born (hard to convince the wife that “touring” is worthwhile when you’re not making enough to cover gas, let alone strings and the practice space... and the -taku at the end is from “otaku” as i’m also a big fan of manga and anime. It’s also hard to convince the wife that’s worthwhile... i’m not even going to go there with miniature gaming.

Used to always go by Minty Fandango, but one website just automatically took the first parts of your first and surname and that was your username. People got to know me like that, so just stuck with it. Stubram - Stuart Bramley.
Think I won for the most boring one.

'With Mash' in Danish is my personal favorite. Reminds me of a mate who went to get a Japanese symbol on his chest for 'Shadow Daemon' (hey, we were young), but instead got drunk and came to me for advice. Long story short - he's got 'Doorbell Sheep' tattooed across his chest in Japanese in 8 inch characters.

Bought starcraft 2, needed a name. On the forums people were lamenting the inability to change your name once chosen, leading to much advice on how to carefully choose an intimidating name.

After much pondering I settled on FluffyBunny, which surprisingly hadn't been taken yet. Queue bizarre numbers of people offering their sympathies.

It became my name everywhere on the net, and many years later i acquired a bunny.

Hahahaha

"The Duke" just kinda has a nice ring to it - dontchya think....?,
........and it has always (historically) been the name for my beloved (and almost immortal!) Delaque gang leader (who has severe delusions of grandeur due to several head-wounds and shell-shock, and too much stinger-mould, slaught, spook and spur.

He wears a fancy red-leather longcoat and likes to think he is "The Duke" of S0GG-bottom - his own grotty-little "duchy" or fiefdom....

I was overjoyed when I joined the forums here and discovered it hadn't been taken yet - yippee!

Mine is a combo of the three letter nickname from the arcade machine days TAK + something from the hive.
It's also a slight play on the the phrase stack overflow...

What does "stack overflow" mean?

I've always liked the 'ring' that Punktaku has to it - good number of hard consonants in there - probably makes little flecks of spittle fly-out stying it out loud too!

nice & punky.
