What's on your mind?

I saw an advertisement for Invincible (video game inspired by Lem´s novel; 1964) on Friday and bought it the same day. The novel itself is close to what´s going on in the video game though liberties have been taken. For instance in the novel women were supposed to guard the house while men investigate the universe in vast spaceships. As this attitude wouldn´t gel well with today´s audience (imagine the Twitter riots with feminists burning their bras!) the main character has been changed to a woman though she isn´t a Karen which is a big plus.

The game itself is a walking simulator with great landscapes. Design of the tech has a retro-sci-fi ambience much like in the Fallout universe. Don´t expect to pick up a ton of items or chat with lots of NPCs. In fact the planet itself is the main NPC. I finished it in one session and the different choices you make can warrant another session. I enjoyed it a lot and it is quite cheap for 30 Euros.

I used to use a site called radio garden (shown to me by @Punktaku) which I really enjoyed listening to foreign radio on.
iv just been on there and it is telling me the British government are stopping it from letting uk listers use any radio station outside the uk! According to them, it was a temporary measure made indefinate. This is really annoying.

would a non uk yak please see If the same applies to them, and can you listen to uk stations?

Cheers @Mr. M
Iv managed to find my favorite Japanese station online, which has calmed me down somewhat, but I’m just wondering how I’m going to get through summer without flicking through the Greek stations! 😄 (I’m going to struggle pretending I’m in Greece when I’m sat in me back garden) 😄😄

It is still curious however, why the Uk specifically? I’ll screenshot the notice just for my own sanity…

With Legions Imperialis and Old World coming up everybody is jumping pn one hype train or another to get the buzzy feeling of nostalgia. Yesterday I came up by chance with another sort of nostalgia: 90s video gaming. There was a commercial for Streets of Rage 4 and good memories of me playing Double Dragon flooded back into my mind. So I bought it together with the DLC and finished the story in one go.

But boy oh boy is the game strenuous for your hands. Beat ´em ups like Mortal Kombat are a walk in the park by comparison or maybe I am just getting old. All there is to say that it was a terrific experience walking down the street and roughing up ruffians!

Such a game mode should exist for Necromunda too. No guns allowed and you may pick a grappler (Goliath), karateka (Escher) & brawler (Orlock) to go on a romp in the Underhive while obliterating scum of various sorts in a rolling terrain scenario.

I foresee a Stimmer doing well in that!!

Some of the old fighting games really need an arcade stick to do them justice. Gamepads can be tough on the thumbs playing them.

Thankfully arcade sticks are more common now than they were 20 years ago so you should be able to pick one up at a reasonable price.

A few years ago I picked up a kit to use on my Master System - as it’s D-Pads are fine for some stuff but get soft with age and it’s already 34 years old!!

It can also be used with 8-bit computers like the c64 too, as it has a switch on the back to alter how the buttons are configured.

Obviously you can get ones with more buttons and system compatibility.

European Master Systems are bloody weird looking, but it's definitely stylish. Hardware is soooo much better than the NES as well.

I just saw a request in a FB Necromunda group that LGT is looking for someone to run Necromunda events. It wasn’t a sharable post, though. Didn’t someone here in the tribe do this a few years ago?
